Make up your own mind on cause and effect but... Celtics since March 24th.... Record - 5-4 Offense - 3rd Defense - 14th Net Rating - 6th O-Rebounding - 16th D-Rebounding - 27th Total Rebounding - 21st Defensive 3FG% - 17th What happened March 24th? Boston clinched the East.

The Celtics haven't won anything yet. Going out like a lamb in the regular season feels almost arrogant in a way. And yet Ensuring Boston is healthy for the postseason is more important than anything else. And it's not even close.

MOST 3'S IN A SEASON - NBA HISTORY (1,750 minutes or fewer) 212 - Steph Curry, Golden State, 2018 200 - Davis Bertans, Washington, 2020 189 - SAM HAUSER, BOSTON, 2024** 187 - Kevin Love, Cleveland, 2022 ** 2 games left

The Celtics may be playing out the string, but the Sultan of Stat is still hitting the calculator hard.
The latest set of notes you need to see from
@DickLipe
-- the Dave Cowens of hoop mathematicians:
Player............................Games Played............MPG................Total Minutes............3pt fgas/36mpg.........3pt fg%
Sam Hauser....................77............................21.8................1675.......................9.6...........................42.9
Tim Hardaway, Jr.............77............................27.1................2085......................10.2..........................35.5
Bogdon Bogdanovic.........77............................30.5................2345.......................9.7...........................37.4
With Hardaway, he just shoots more 3s/minute, but he's only hitting 35.5% of them. More minutes, more opportunities to launch 3s for Bogie. Simple. Sam is the right combination of 3pt fgas and high efficiency. If Sam played 5-8 more mpg he'd be ahead of them.
Let's get into playoff mode with our last two games. That means playing to destroy, not just showing up in body. I'm just hoping they're using these games where their minds are elsewhere to recharge their psyches after a long season, but if they think they can just flip a switch...

Re: Post Game - Celtics vs. New York Knicks - Thursday, April 11 (L)
Everything that we still need to know cannot manifest itself until the playoffs begin.
A loss to the Bucks and the Knicks were games against desperate teams. The intensity level is measurable.
Our Celtics sit atop of the NBA standings and are just going through the motions, occasionally looking up at the clock like some person at work on a Friday.
We had to play the starters last night because it was a game against the Knicks. There were good intentions at work in the first QTR but since this game is all about fundamentals, or a lack thereof, can only produce an embarrassing loss to a team that came in 0-4 against us for the season. Great defense can only be realized when your team secures the ball and turns to begin their offensive possession. So the Celtics initial defense was not half bad. We know that there were 17 initial stops that turned into offensive rebounds for the Knicks. That stat is really a 50/50 statistic. Who wants the ball more and what sacrifices are you willing to make.
This game and the one against the Bucks should be a wake up call for the Celtics. No one gives a damn about your lofty record.
The Celtics are the more talented team top to bottom. However it should be evident that the Knicks have a very relevant advantage over us. They always play hard. There is a mental toughness to the way that they play. They have withstood numerous injuries throughout the year but there is no quit in them. The driving force behind that mindset is coach Thibs.
Maybe we luck out and do not have to face them during the playoffs. Maybe the Sixers move up to 6 and the knicks will have to battle it out with them. Or Maybe the Pacers offensive firepower overwhelms them.
Know this. Which ever teams we play in round 1 will be a most difficult matchup.
If you were a paying fan that went to the game last night would you have preferred DNP's or a half-hearted effort?
Charlotte is in town for a game tonight. They are lottery bound and can improve their odds only by losing. Our big guns need to sit this one out because there is no good reason for them to play.
I really enjoyed watching our bench guys, led by PP and SH, smoke the Knicks in the 4th QTR 38-18.

Had to record the game and haven't watched it yet.
This summarizes everything I need to know, thank you.
I can now spend the time it would have taken to watch it getting the pool ready to be uncovered instead.
