KP looks and sounds great. Feels ahead of schedule. I know there are a few others who will have the final say but he looks and feels great.

The improved synergy of and between JT and JB along with the rest of the team is going to be very interesting this season now that they have the hardware and how hungry they are for #2.
Everybody coming up to the desk today is extremely confident. Not cocky. Thank you, Joe, for the grounding.

I just want to see what Coach Joe has to say.
That guy is getting to be one of my favorite interviews.
Maybe we start a contest to see how far into the season he goes before he breaks character and cracks a smile in a post-game presser. The guy may rival Pop on my list of must see coach vs media matchups.

Here comes JB. 2 1/2 minutes under water!! That's ridiculous, Gus! Can you imagine all of our guys in shape like JB, playing full court pressure on defense most plays and still being efficient on offense?! Dang!!!

Re: Celtics Media Day 2024
I pretty much watched the entire media show.
The KP interview was the one that I found most interesting.
He said that his ankle felt great. He will comply with the medical staff as he continues to gear up for a return. It really sounded to me that he believes he is ahead of schedule.
Clearly he should not even think about returning until he is absolutely at 100%. When he does return he should be placed on a minutes restriction. I do not believe he will be in basketball shape.
In the meantime, the Celtics are gearing up to start the season without him. They already know that hey can win without him.
CJ has set the standard for how the Celtics will approach the season. No one seemed to want to talk about repeat. That is a good thing. As long as they remain hungry but humble and trust in the steps, they will be a top team again.
I was surprised that rookie Baylor looked so thick in his arms and shoulders. He stated that he has added 20 lbs.
The biggest question that will be answered once they get through training camp and preseason will be the status of Lonnie Walker.
I expect the rotation to be stronger because they have more experience playing together. Guys like Queta and Tillman are going to play more and Luke Kornet's role will be elevated to the 2nd center behind AH.
We only have 10 days before our first preseason game. It is really hard to believe that the new season is knocking on the door.

There is clearly a high level of confidence up and down the roster.
Coach Joe is the ultimate contrarian. The content of his motivational stories and scenarios are quite unique. Jrue mentioned that he (Joe) probably will have them do some "new crazy drills" Tatum said "Joe was probably the happiest person in the world because I didn't win Finals MVP and I didn't play in 2 games in the Olympics."
The players are 100% bought in. Joe is an odd ball and the players know it and talk about it but at the same time they understand the message.
I cannot imagine that we win the East by 14 games but we could still end up being a better team. I just think that the chemistry on this team will be better and that they will be able to execute at an even higher level. All the crap about them being the champions and everybody will be gunning for them is no different than any other year. The Celtics remain a defining circle on every team's schedule and it has been that way for 6-7 years in a row.

It was refreshing listening to all the interviews and hearing such positive outlooks from all. Not cocky, no big heads, just ready to go out and play basketball. Basically the three running the show were very good. Last night Scal, Fosbeerg, Eddie, and Giles did the post up show. I am so looking forward to seeing them gel all over again, stay healthy and put their foot on the throats of those who think they bought the EDC title Philly?? NY??? As Scal says, NY still does not have a good center, Roobinson is out for a while and they will be looking to grab someone

MY NOTE: 10-15# in 15 weeks or fewer? That's a lot of weight in a short time. It was planned but still...He gave credit to the guy "in the kitchen". Good life. Nutritionists and chefs on site who know what you need to eat. We'll feed you, take care of you, everything you need. You just need to live at work. Sounds like Google out here. Same deal. They make your life easy EXCEPT that they own you.
