Pre-Game @ATL
First off, I hate the Hornets. Here I sit in Raleigh/Wendell, NC 3 hours away from the Hornet's Headquarters in Charlotte, and I couldn't watch a single game of the Celtics @ CHAR because of some archaic blackout rules. Come on TV people, this bs has been around long enough and you're talking about a couple hundred fans blowing it for the rest of us. Don't penalize my lazy ass because I LIVE in NC and am nowhere near Charlotte nor would I ever have any interest in them even if they won a championship!! Find some way to revenue share this complete bs and blow blackout rules back to the Stone Age from whence it came!!
OK, that being said, I know we are all tempted to look past this game @ATL tonight for the one looming Wednesday. Wednesday will come and go. What we can't afford at this stage is potentially blowing both of these games because of long-sightedness/looking ahead. ATL, well should I say Trae Young, has given us a bit of a test at times, but at 2-4, they don't look very intimidating I'll have to admit. We should come out and play our game like we always do. I like what Rosalie said in another thread asking when's the Celtic steamroller going to be on permanently and we start blowing everyone out by 15+ at a time.
I'm all for that. I believe most of us on this site want it yesterday. I was giving them until G20+ but they came out so strong in pre-season. After the first 7 games, it's not a fully operational Death Star just yet but it is awful close. Joe is going to continue to manage the lineups based upon who's healthy and who we're playing. His goal is to raise the O'Brien Trophy once again at the end of this season. We all have singleness of purpose. So, we won't be the last undefeated team to lose this year. That will go to OKC or CLE. Who cares?!! They won't win 82 games either. I'm not impressed with CLE. Opened against TOR, DET & WAS. Beat NYK in a close one. Did crush LAL. Gotta give 'em that one!! Beat the Magic and then BARELY beat a hapless, rudderless Bucks team by one. MIL might could help themselves and win tonight's game in CLE. But if MIL loses that one. (Doc has to be on the hot seat at or near the temperature of the Sun's surface.) Yeah, I'd be 7-0 with that schedule. They've got @Buck tonight, @NOP and then GSW. There's at least one or two losses in there, maybe/should be all three. We'll see.
We're looking at BOS(-11.5) sans JB (hip). That's still steep on the road. We'll see how that works out. Joe will manage with interchangeable parts. Looks a little rich but that's not my business!!
Go Celtics!!! 81-1!!!

Would take the Hawks if I was betting. -11.5 on the road against a high scoring team with no JB is easy pickings.
Question, were the Hornets on Bally Sports before the Fansdual rebranding?
Taking Celtics to win tonight.

the more I think about those two games, the madder I get. I wish we had kicked there butts cpmpletely. Letting them back into the game was ridiculous. Ball may be terrific, but he is a complete ball hog. Atlanta can sometimes be in pain in the rear, but I am picking Celtics in this game

Celtics to win, give the points.
Payton's going to have his hands full tonight with Trae Young AND JB out. He has to defend that water bug and help replace some of Brown's points. I expect Young will get A LOT of attention from Jrue and Derrick.
Working to our advantage Atlanta played last night in NOP, and won. Trae played 31 minutes. Furthermore they don't really have much depth at center, they have Capela and that's about it now that Collins is in Utah, so throwing double bigs at them should work.

Re: Pre-Game @ATL
The Charlotte Hornets used to be on Fox Sports South East, or something like that. They were available to watch on cable and dish as well as on YouTube TV (which is how I watched them). I'm not sure if they were ever available over the air.
Bally Sports bought them from Fox a couple years ago. That ended their run on Youtube TV. Now they are available on dish and I am not sure about cable. I do know that they are not available over the air. I have a nice attic digital antenna, and I get 100's of channels, but no Bally Sports.
There's the rub. They are NOT available over the air, here or (I imagine) in Raliegh. The blackout rules do not protect a "local" station in any way. IMO, if the broadcast is not available over the air, there should be no blackout rules.

Re: Pre-Game @ATL
And don't get me going on the cost of actually going to a game. When I moved here 10 years ago, I could get nice tickets for two for a little over $100. Add in parking and snacks, the whole thing would be less than $150, again for two.
Now, those same tickets go for over $300, before taxes and fees. Both parking and food costs more. Not the same night for two costs more like $450-500.

Re: Pre-Game @ATL
Try Boston.........it is crazy. Have not been to a game in two years. My son and I always bought loge seats, had a couple of friends who had balcony seats and I would buy from them, but now? Don't do stairs like that anyore, so tv it is. I refuse to pay 400 plus dollars for tickets. Where is this game headed??? Playoff tickets were out of this world. Oh well, the good days for me are over, I will watch all on tv, listen on radio. Back to when I was a kid. To think, I paid $6 bucks a ticket for seasons tickets at the end of the '60's. Russell's las year was a trip. Back then playoffs were buy one get one, so you could buy 2 tickets a piece for $20 Living in the past. move ahead. I feel sorry for the younger generation

Brown will be out again when the Celtics conclude their four-game trip in Atlanta on Monday. That will be their third rest-advantage game of the season thus far.

My comments:
Rest advantage: When we play a team on their SEGABABA, but we've had at least one day of rest between games. Atlanta won in New Orleans last night.

Dang. Just looked up the injury report on ATL. 6 out already, Brogdon B., De'Andre H and Cody Z most notable. Please don't over look this one, Boston!! I'll defer as you guys and gal as you are masters of and proper utilizers of the dreaded "T" word!! I'm on record as every game this season after a championship qualifies as one!!
