The C's were down another body today... as Paul Pierce took a sick day. That left them with 10 guys for practice.

"We don’t worry about body count," said Rivers. "[The Lakers are] not going to worry about the body count, I can guarantee you that. We’ll be ready, we’ll be fine."

But Rivers admitted that, after operating without a pure swingman Wednesday and dangerously thin at center, the team will be tested moving forward.

"Size will come into play at some point [Thursday], but, listen, we have what we have," said Rivers. "We’re going to line it up against whatever they have and see who wins the game."

While normally all the focus on the day before a Celtics-Lakers matchup would be on the rivalry, Boston seemed more concerned about its own backyard, almost resigned to the fact that the Lakers are simply the next team on the schedule (when a visit from, say, Cleveland might be more welcomed). But the Celtics also aren't feeling sorry for themselves and those players that are healthy promised to be ready for the matchup.

"We just gotta get it done," said Glen Davis. "Things happen, players get hurt. You gotta keep going. That's why you have 15 people on the roster."

I'm sure Pierce will be back tomorrow. Shaq's out tomorrow for sure. So is Semih. Delonte West figured he'd try to pull a Perk and lobby to play. He actually went through a full practice... but is still slated to come back in 2 to 3 weeks.

i'd heard that West was closer than that 2-3 weeks -- maybe that report was just based on his vocal eagerness to get back in ...

even down those guys, tonight's game will be epic ! Perk needs to avoid early foul trouble, for sure. and Rondo needs to show up in the 1st half too, not just in the second ...
it will be interesting to see how much Artest can contribute - his game seems off lately, like bascially this year ! that leaves PP with lots more he can do.

Whatever happens tonight, and it's not looking promising, at least we know we beat the Lakers in LA with many more healthy bodies than we'll have for the tilt televised on TNT. Wouldn't it be fitting though to see Ray Ray win the game with the three pointer, at the buzzer, that drops Reggie to #2 in the 3 ball department. Rosalie would be in her glory and rightly so. The chips are not falling our way for this game, unless they're buffalo chips!-MD.

Hey it's Celtic, Laker basketball...there is some Magic associated with it (and I I'm not talking E. Johnson). Nobody needs to get up for it, or focused... Hopefully it will be another great game. Let's not throw it the towel just yet.

Strained adductor could mean the hand from the thumb to the wrist or in the groin? What is it? There are many adductor muscles. They are not giving us the right info. If was the groin just say the groin! Celtics are going into that vague mode like they did several years ago with KG.

Whoever is or isn't playing I'm looking forward to it.

If we had to dress a penguin from the zoo to fill the roster it's still the Lakers and therefore another game in the league's best rivalry.

You and I are on the same page NY...may be the best rivalry in all of sports...I think so, because the two teams are pretty evenly matched win wise, overall.

We can drive a stake in their purple hearts with a win tonight. Got to stay out of foul trouble and keep it close...let the willies set in on them in yet another big game they are supposed to win.

yup, i said above that for the C's, especially Perk, to stay out of early foul trouble is KEY to this win. Artest's coverage, or attempted coverage, of the captain will also be a KEY matchup !
