I guess you mean the Lakers players are crumbling and cracking because the Lakers organization is doing quite well. Their local TV revenue has been $30m per year but starting with the 2012-2013 season it is increasing to $150m per year.

Matt Barnes will be back any day now. He will play more minutes if Artest is in a funk. Outside of a quick point guard I don't see where they could have improved their team. A Troy Murphy or Sasha Pavlovic would not have helped LA. With Boston's injurues Murphy could be important to Boston.
