And to boot I should be a whole lot more concerned about MY friggin weight than Davis anyway! got on the damn thing (scales) the other day and saw numbers I had never seen before (at least not in that order on a set of scales)

Scales see me coming and they say one at a time!

Pickin up the kid from a baseball meeting in a bit, practice begins next week!

i have lost 40 pounds due to sickness. I thank goodness i had the weight to lose. I would shudder to think what i would look like if i started into this journey skinny.

I saw where Nate is having surgery so he would have been part of the hospital squad now. It looks like Danny wanted healthy bodies now.

Again, I do not agree. A person who is rail thin with a high metabolism, can have a very low BMI - and be incredibly unhealthy and out of shape.

As I have said in my previous posts, I think Big Baby is a bit out of shape from an NBA player stand point. But I think it is a BIG leap to take it to the point that he is so out of shape that his health is in jeopardy.

I am 6' - 220 - and while I could also stand to lose a few pound and probably could not keep up with you on a track or in a bike race...I run 3 miles 4 x a week, control the boards in my 35+ league, and come from a long history of big, sturdy, irish catholic men who live well into their 80s. BMI is a vast oversimplification of what is and is not healthy.

OK. I think that everyone else here is probably bored to death with this back and forth. The fact of the matter is that BMI is a widely accepted tool that can be used along with other tools to determine an individual's risk for the "metabolic syndrome". You can feel free to disagree as much as you like, but your reasoning is faulty and not backed up by current medical information. Its along the lines of believing, as some do, that ecchinacea helps the common cold, a belief held by some natural medicine people that is likewise not based in fact.
This is my last post on the topic; if you wish to debate this further, we should do it by PM.
