What a great start to the season. So proud of our guys coming back from
14 pts. The key was our bench which will be the key to our
returning to the finals. I believe our bench out scored the Cav's bench almost 3:1

Bench Stars: 1) Wallace, 2) Daniels
Salute: Eddie Mansion, Williams .............. Way to go guys !!!!!!!!!!!!

Now For Opening Night!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go C's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is going to be tough for any team to match the Celtics bench.
The Cavs big men are old and slow.
Mo Williams got shut down by Rajon.
Shaq is black hole that just destroys movement and momentum.
Anthony Parker is not a prime time player, he may make shots early but in the clutch he is a brick thrower.
The Refs actually gave the Celtics a shake out there, and called King James for a few of the more blatant things.

Solid win.

Clearly this team is loaded. The excitement and talent is beyond anything in recent memory.Even in trying hard to avoid partisanship--my goodness.... we're long, quick, deeper than ever and hungry.
This is gonna be fun.

I didn't catch any of the Cs-Cavs as I was on my way to the Laker game, but KG looked really good on the highlights I saw when I got home.

He seems to be moving really well.

Do you guys who have been watching him a lot think so also ?

KG actually only looks to be about 75% or so right now. Even his intensity is diminished by his inability to really go full speed at the minute.

He let a lob that he would usually grab out of the air – go over his head for a dunk. He didn’t contest a few shots that he will throw into the 4th row in a month or two. And he missed an easy dunk, and made a few other shots tougher than then needed to be, as he still seems a bit unsure on his knee.

But that being said, KG at 75% is better than 99% of the players in the NBA – and his chemistry with Sheed is off the charts. They clearly know each other, like each other, and will have each other’s back on offense and defense. That makes the Celtics a very hard team to defend. Unlike in years past, where teams could cheat off Perk and Rondo – now in tight games you will have KG on the block and Allen and Sheed in the corners. Teams will have to choose their poison.

If we can expect efforts like this from this team save for the first 6-8 minutes of the first quarter, we should have quite a number of eventful nights and afternoons this season. It was a quintessential team effort. No one stood out above the rest. Everyone utilized their strengths in a collective team effort. Hopefully KG will get stronger and Doc won't play Ray 42 min. on a consistent basis. Someone suggested Garnett was at 75% currently. If that's true and if he even plateaued at that he would still be better than much of what the competition has to offer. Just a thought, but if we brought Sweetney back, and packaged Davis, Scal. & T. Allen we should be able to land a starter-type quality point guard to back up Rondo. By the way, let give #9 his cash so we can get him secured for the foreseeable & distant future, Please!

Mo Williams is a one dimensional player that if his shot is not falling he can't help you,can barely create his own shot and no ability to create for others.

Agreed.

With Shaq and Z down low, LeBron still preferring to drive over shooting jumpers, and Anthony Parker, Mo Williams and Jamario Moon all needing to drive to get their offense going – Cleveland has one crowded paint area. They have very few shooters that can stretch the defense consistently – and I see this being a big problem for them this season.

mrkleen,

what are u talkin about? Mo Williams is a pretty good shooter. and Anthony Parker can stroke it too. actually, Mo Williams strikes me as a less potent Eddie House type of player but with more handles.

Don’t know if you watched the game last night rip, but Anthony Parker looked old and slow. Ray Allen, Marquis Daniels and Paul Pierce all took turns schooling him. He is a good career shooter – but down the stretch last night, as is par for the course over his career - he wanted nothing to do with the ball. He is not a prime time player.

I am not a Mo Williams fan. I think he is too much of a ball hog and is another front runner that shows up in blow outs, but comes up lame in important games. Maybe my bias clouds my judgment here – but you cant have a PG who is 50th in the league in assists if you expect to go anywhere.

Mo Williams flat out shat the bed in the playoffs last year. I knew he would and he did.

Cavs are going to struggle to win 55.
