A long way to go to catch Larry Empty A long way to go to catch Larry

From Celtics.com...

STAT OF THE WEEK

Rajon Rondo's triple-double during Game 3 against the Knicks ties him with Antoine Walker for second place on Boston's all-time list, with 13 career triple-doubles. Larry Bird is atop that list with 69 triple-doubles.

It would be difficult and a major feat but it would be fun to see Rondo have the type of career where he could at least be a notable (say 36 + or - 5) #2 on the list.

Rondo won't be able to consistently hit 10 rebs to make an assault on larry legend's total, but I think he could easily hit the 25-30 range for his career.

Rondo could do it, depends if he is a lifer celtic and how the rebuilding process goes. Rondo is 25 and played in 68 games right now he is averaging about 1 triple double every 5 games.

if boston goes all the way this season we could be looking at about 20 more games, or based on averages, 4 more triple doubles this year, thats 17. 41 more then to catch Larry Legend.. if the rebuilding process is relatively seamless and Rondo is a career Celtic, i think its quite possible that Rondo could cacth up with him.

Matty, that's 13 CAREER TD's. He's played 331 career games. So that's 1 TD every 25.5 games Wink
