reading the yahoo! news on the Celtics arse kicking of the Heat last night i noticed one readers had this to say about King Nothing in his teams last 11 games, in which btw, their 6-5

lebron has failed to make more than 2 baskets in the 4th quarter for past 11 games:

"lebrick 4th quarter stats past 11 games:

1-8 against vs orlando .....lost
1-3 against vs chicago...lost
1-4 against vs sixers .... win
0-2 against vs orlando....win
1-3 against vs suns ....win
0-3 against vs pistons ....win
2-4 against vs thunder....lost
1-3 against vs pacers....lost
2-4 against vs mavericks...win
0-0 against vs raptors....win
1-2 against vs celtics....lost"

thats 10- 36

Now i didnt look up 4th quarter stats as greg doesnt play all that many minutes usualy anyhow but in the last 11 games here is Greg "The shooter" Steimsma's line

2-2 vs warriors won by 2
0-1 vs kings lost by 25
2-5 vs Nuggets lost by 7
2-3 vs hawks won by 3
3-5 vs bucks won by 9
1-1 vs Philly- lost by 13
4-5 VS bullets.. err Wizards win by 12
1-2 VS bobcats win by 7
0-0 VS Jazz- win 12
4-4 VS Twolves- win by 21
2-5 Vs Heat- win by 19
thats 21- 33 while the Celtics have gone 8-3 over the past 11 games.

not baD for a guy who basically plays just one quarter a game {12.5 min a game} which is why im making a camparison to King Nothing's 4th quarter abilities.

what does it mean? in 4th quarters is King Nothing a lesser player than Steimsma?? lol!

Oh, come on, Matty,
Give the guy (LJ) credit - he is true olimpian: it's not important to win it's important to participate.

Sinus, i was looking for some way to excuse King Nothings poor preformances. but Miami has been silent as of late on how HIS NOTHINGNESS's Elbow has been doing.

on a side note however, in this 11 game strech when Greg "the Shooter" STeimsma shoots above 50% we've won 100% of the time, when he only shoots 50% we win 50% of the time, when Greg has shot less than 50% we've lost every time... coincidence?

What I find remarkable is that no one brings up anything about Rondo's elbow. I was concerned that he was going to be seriously hampered by it all season, but it's been a non-issue.

Not quite ( here is the entire Olympic creed....

"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well."

Thing is when it matters most he has not even "fought well" but just faded into bolivian.

Nicely researched, Matty! It's great to see Celtics Nation immersed in what seems to be a natural high. Here's hoping the Celtics are experiencing the same kind of rush. It couldn't come at a better time in the schedule. Beat even has Lebron exiled to South America.

Here's hoping we'll all celebrate by meeting on the Game-on Thread for some of these potentially pivotal games.

Beat, I'm thinking your mom's courage is a good luck charm for this team. Here's hoping she's doing better every day.

Sam i read that (King Nothing's stats) on yahoo while trying to see if our guys had won after a long day hike on sunday.. i was just looking for an irrelevent means to toss out that funny little gem.

on a side note and since i have someone's attention and feel like complaining... HOLY CRAP my foot hurts! got a blister from the 10 mile hike on sunday and woke up with it infected yesterday. just called off of work a few minutes ago cuz i cant walk with a shoe on.... from a blasted blister!!

I didnt look at it that way??? Duh, planes are flying low today.

Sam

Mom is doing extreemly well. Better than I could have imagined. Still a lot of discomfort in the knee and a lot of swelling too and untill that goes down it's gonna hurt some BUT she is in therapy 4 x a day walking and doing some exersises. I go over at noonish every day and sometimes 3 x a day when I can help her with her food as she has a difficult time seeing and opening things, and the hospital staff sometines forgets to help her.

And On a final note!!

Marcus has his first real taste of spring Team has a scrimage this afternoon.

Won't be pitching anytime soon as that is still in recovery phase and maybe won't at all, but if it isn't meant to be all he can do is keep practicing and see if he can get it back.

Matty,

I'm glad you're attending to the blister (I guess you have no alternative) because we all know how a blister can occasionally lead to other problems. You're probably an expert in blister care by now; but, just in case, I happened across the following which might be of interest:

Good luck in dealing with it.

Beat,

You're obviously being a great son. Three times a day is not easy to manage, and I'm sure your mom really appreciates it. Do you have a time line on when she might be released from the hospital? And what will happen then?

Marcus seems to be the kind of guy who deals quite well with adversity. Please wish him the best from the board.

With mom it is so hard to say. Another 2 weeks perhaps, she has to be able to accomplish quite a few things and some are quite hard but she's getting there.

As for Marcus............ he'd kill me for saying this......

BUT THE BOY IS IN LOVE!!

still loves baseball but that may be taking a bit of a back seat.

Beat,

Good luck with that! Teenage years are the part of life that makes one wish for a parenthood manual. Unfortunately, no foolproof manual exists. It's on the job training. To paraphrase Rick Pitino, welcome to the Fellowship of the Bewildered.

At least she likes sports and is good at them... plus her favorite player is Rondo.

We'll see how long this lasts..............
