The owners of the Kings and officials from Comcast-Spectacor will be in Virginia Beach on Tuesday to look into the feasibility of building a new sports arena.
The Kings are looking for a new arena after a deal with the city of Sacramento fell through.
“Comcast, Live Nation and Global Spectrum have come to the city,” Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms said last week. “They would guarantee us a professional sports team if the deal goes through.”

Interesting, but if it comes to be, how can they readjust the divisions? Who gets moved to the West?

Seems like a ton of empty seats at most Wizards and Charlotte Hornets games - not sure Virginia could support a team.

Probably they are using Va. Beach as a stalking horse to gain leverage with Sacramento or other cites they are considering. They are limited to population cities in the West as the better ones are already taken and the remaining are not big enough to support a team....unless you want to retest Seattle.
It all comes down to the product and winning, without a good product no one will come out to see bad basketball.

THey wouldn't need a new arena. The Kings could play at the Ted Constant Center in Norfolk, where Old Dominion plays. They could change their name to the Squires to honor the old ABA traditions in Virginia in the 70's. I feel almost as bad for the folks in Sac town as I do for the people of Seattle for what Clay Bennett did to them. The Maloofs have become far too aloof!
