Chief's 1986 Ring for Sale

For those of you with $20k or so to burn and want to wear a size 13 Boston Celtic Championship ring, Robert Parish is auctioning his off. He already sold his first one for $45k.

This is the third one he has auctioned off.

There are no reports as to why and nothing reported that suggests he needs the money.

Other athletes have auctioned off rings and trophies for various causes or reasons other than hardship. Jim Palmer is one recent example of an athlete who said he didn't need the hardware as reminders and put the money to better use for the benefit his grandchildren and autistic stepson. One of the Cy Young awards sold for $39,000 and the winning bidder didn't even take it, he just wanted to donate to Palmer's cause!
