Great news, and with 7 weeks or so until camp, that's time to work on his game.

Report: Sullinger cleared for basketball activity
August 6, 2013, 11:15 pm
The Celtics title chances took a major blow when Rajon Rondo went down with a torn ACL.
Less than a week later, it was announced that Jared Sullinger would also miss the rest of the season due to back surgery. The little hope that remained for Boston was shattered.
Well now there's good news - in an otherwise rough offseason for the C's - on the Sullinger front, as he told the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn that he was cleared for full basketball activity last week.
Sullinger averaged 6.0 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Celtics last year, after sliding all the way to them at the No. 21 pick in the NBA Draft for those same back problems feared by other NBA GM's.
C's GM Danny Ainge took a chance on Sullinger and reaped the benefits while Sullinger was healthy, even though the numbers may not jump out. But Sullinger was averaging 7.0 points and 7.2 rebounds in January before his last game of the season on January 30, of which he only played four minutes in a 99-81 win over the Kings. Sullinger also put up five double-digit rebound games in January.
Sullinger looks to have a much bigger role on the C's this season, as one of the few young, promising big men the C's have on their rebuilding roster. Last season playing and learning alongside Kevin Garnett should prove wonders for Sullinger going forward - assuming, of course, he can stay healthy.
