The Rest Of The Way

Here's the rest of the season:  13 road games, 13 home games.  5 back-to-backs (accounting for 10 of the 26 games).  None of the back-to-backs are against two non-playoff teams.  All are either against two playoff teams or against one playoff team and one non-playoff team.  So, no easy back-to-backs either.

9 games against currently NON-playoff teams (6 on the road, 3 at home)
17 against teams currently in the playoffs (7 on the road, 10 at home).

NOT an easy schedule coming up, although we've got good opportunities to win the next two games.  A great chance to show how to (and who can)  handle adversity.

With that schedule I see us going 6-20.

Worcester, Would you see that as a bad thing? (I know we'd all rather win 26 straight with our current players, looking just one man short of a champion, but realistically, would it be bad to go 6-20, or even 4-22 and picking, say, 4th?) I ask because I've come to the point where I'm watching games, thinking about next season whenever they start to go south. Hawk

I am not an advocate of tanking. I want the Celts to win every game. However, when they lose it really does not hurt much. I don't want them to lose but the benefit of losing cannot be ignored.

It is a paradox for Celtics fans.

Truth be told, this season is flying by and since we have little chance for post season play, the sooner it ends only brings us closer to new opportunities.

Hawk, looking at the schedule I just see 6-20 just as what is probable, not as a desired outcome. Nevertheless, it bodes well for 2014-15 to have a better lottery pick.
