C's finish tied for 4th-worst record
By Chris Forsberg | ESPNBoston.com
BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics finished the 2013-14 season with a 25-57 mark and will share the fourth-worst record in the NBA with the Utah Jazz.
The Celtics and Jazz will split 207 ping-pong ball combinations with a random drawing to see who gets the leftover combo (and the higher pick in the event neither vault into the top 3 spots). Both teams will own roughly 33.7 percent chance at a top-3 pick and a 10.4 percent chance at the No. 1 overall pick. Boston can pick no lower than eighth in June's draft.
The Celtic entered the final night with the fifth-worst record in basketball, but were aided by a Los Angeles Lakers victory over the San Antonio Spurs as well as Utah's double-overtime triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
What's more, with Washington's win over Boston, coupled with Brooklyn's loss in Cleveland, the Celtics will pick as high as 17th in June's draft with the Nets' pick received in last summer's swap. A coin flip will break the tie between the Nets and Wizards, who both finished at 44-38, meaning Boston will pick 17th or 18th overall with that selection.

Re: C's finish tied for 4th-worst record
The Jazz were up by 9 in the 4th. They basically imploded and went into OT, and then into double OT and on to win.
Of all the Comments From The Other Side threads I've started this year, the ones with the most fans calling for tanking were the Bucks and, maybe even more so, Jazz boards. Philly had a lot of tankers on them, but their hatred of all things green had some of them willing to forego the joy (time to wake up and smell the sarcasm) of losing to us. Jazz fans, though, were almost universally pro-tank.
Players don't give a damn about the lottery. They don't give a damn about the draft. That's all behind them. They're fighting for playing time and, often, just a job. The Utah Jazz, regardless of whatever damage they may or may not have inflicted upon their chances of a #1 pick, did their fans proud last night. They played with pride, they played to win, and they did.
Congratulations Utah Jazz on going out with your heads up.
And for all the Jazz Panzer Kommanders, have you considered becoming Cubs fans?

Hi,
I don't understand why Forsberg said ..."Boston will pick 17th or 18th overall..."?
There're 15 teams that have worse record than Nets and Wizards, so those picks should be 16th or 17th, shouldn't they?
AK

There are the 14 lottery teams, then Atlanta picks 15th, Charlotte 16th and since Washington and Brooklyn are tied for 17th and 18th, one will pick 17th and one will pick 18th.
