He is no center but has a really impressive game. can shoot with either hand. can shoot mid range and deeper, can run the floor and even handle the ball like a guard.
Sometimes you just cannot pass up talent and this 18 year old kid has a very advanced game

With that good a handle and plenty of speed and agility, I'd like to see him match up against small forwards.

Not sure how he would be as small forward although when asked about his position he said he was a combo forward. From an interview at the mcdonalds high school game. When asked where does he see himself down the road he said he was going to be a superstar in the NBA....no lack of c confidence.
He is no center but a very talented forward with tremendous upside. We still need an Asik size center .
I am just hoping we keep #6 and maybe use future picks to get a center.
I want my cake and eat it too

Re: Vonleh Highlight at Indiana
I also think Vonleh would be a good choice for the Celtics.
I am not sure he will ever approach Ibaka type defense in the NBA though. I have said I see him as a possible Chris Bosh type NBA player.
however I will note that BOTH Ibaka and Bosh are essentially starting Centers in todays NBA and both play for ELITE teams.
so IF Vonleh develops into anything close to either one ( or some combo of them) the Celtics will have a damn good Center on their hands.
Vonleh will take a couples years to mature and develop, maybe even more than most rookies.
I think the Celtics could have 3 solid players to pick from with the #6 pick.
Vonleh, who as we discuss here, could be a future NBA center
Randle, who I believe will be a 20-10 guy the NBA, but is an undersized PF...think Zach Randolph at his best.
Gordon, who I see as a possible Dennis Rodman type defensive and rebounding presence as a combo forward in the NBA.

Dboss,
Why not want to have your cake and eat it too? This time of year is (to quote Humphrey Bogart in "The Maltese Falcon") "the stuff dreams are made of."

sam,
I wish we had a Cameroonian falcon joining us this year, but that is not going to happen.
