Rondo Celtic MVP Empty Rondo Celtic MVP

I know, I have been a Rondo fanatic since day 1, but it is becoming increasingly obvious that Rondo is the Celts' MVP. Rondo tries his damndest to involve everyone, yet his offense has grown significantly. Defensively. he is gambling less, and still leads the league in steals. I feel he has been by far the most concistent performer. Everyone knows my disappointment in the Celtics' effort at times this season. But I haven't been disappointed with Rondo's effort for a moment. The veterans on this team could take note.

Rondo will definately be selected to the All Star game. Pray he remains healthy!

Go Celtics!!

Ditto as a day one Rondo booster.

The way the Celtics announcers express it is that, whether or not Rondo's the Celts' MVP, he's their most irreplaceable player.

I've always maintained that, if a PG and another player display equal capabilities and exploits (however they might be measured), the PG is much more valuable because so greatly affects all teammates on the floor.

Rondo did go through a period (I think it was after their earliest win streak when they lost several games in 10 days) when people thought he was dogging it. But, whatever the facts might have been at that time, he's been a dynamo ever since.

And, it's very true that, IF the Celtics were to win the championship, and IF the dynamic of the team were to continue to be what it has been lately, a good argument could be made for Rondo as the league MVP. Probably Kobe or Lebron would win it because of the entertainment/showtime-oriented irrelevance that pervades such decisions. Fortunately, the Celtics don't live and breathe individual awards.

SD,

Good point about the gambling less, it seemed last year he settled for letting his man go by and trying that reach around deflection. It worked once in a while but not often enough, and put pressure on the back line to help him out.

Rondo is here. He's arrived. He is having an all star year. And he is doing it in Celtic fashion. Unselfish always up on his man on d. I think the vets are really starting to groove on the guy. He and PP share Celts mvp for me this year. I think they have won us an equal amount of games.

I no longer cringe when he has the ball late in games due to his free throw shooting nor when he shoots. In fact I want him to shoot.

I'm a huge Rondo fan, and he's quickly becoming my favorite on the team (just eking out Pierce). I do have to say that I watch him a lot on defense. It's true that he's gambling a lot less this year, but I still think he can improve on the team defense. I see him get picked off his man a lot, and instead of hustling to get back to him, he kind of gets lost and ends up wandering around aimlessly while his man is getting an open shot. Maybe this happens to all the players, and I just notice it with Rondo more because I'm watching him so closely, but I'd like to see him improve in that area. Other than that, he definitely has my vote for MVP, and I really think he deserves a spot on the All Star team this year.
