News of Sam Jones

I spoke with 80-year-old Sam yesterday, and he reports he's doing well.  He said fast breaks were long forgotten in his life, as he and Gladys both have mobility problems.  He was supposed to have a knee replacement a few months ago, but he's still unable to do so because they've detected some heart arrythymia that represents a contarindication to an operation.  (John Havlicek also had arrhtymia but is now okay.)  Sam's getting sick of waiting but is feeling generally good otherwise.  What a great guy to talk to....always upbeat....unflappable....generous in his comments....the epitome of style.  My golden circle is shrinking, shrinking, shrinking, with recent health problems to Sam, John, Russ and debilitating sadness for Cooz.  My four all-time Celtics favorites.  Sending lots of strength your way guys.
