It ain't perfect, but I sure do love it.  I pretty much lost it with every flag I saw at half staff today.  There was a perfect wind and each flag was billowing proudly  It reminded me of the words of a commentator that helped me through the aftermath of the John F. Kennedy assassination.  "The flag of the United States has been dealt a terrible blow.  But the flag is still flying.  And hopefully it always will."

Ever since 9/11, the final verse of America the Beautiful has become as meaningful to me as the first verse.

O Beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

Both those verses will be sung at my funeral.  Now there's a prediction I can definitely live with.
