slow here, is everyone depressed now?
after the last two games, we've been brought back to reality I suppose.
does anyone know why Kelly wasn't playing last night?
Just saw this piece:
http://www.csnne.com/boston-celtics/faverani-returns-spain-status-uncertain
could a buy out be in the works?
would allow a spot for Powell if so.

Re: slow here, is everyone depressed now?
kdp,
Kelly was a healthy DNP because Brad was managing minutes. That was the reason why Bradley didn't play in the 4th quarter vs Toronto and didn't play any of the 2nd half last night. Wallace didn't play either, nor James Young.
Yeah, the Faverani stuff is bothersome. I don't know what that means, bigger picture.
Crash had knee surgery for a torn miniscus on March 4th, Vitor had his on March 7th and yet Wallace is playing and Vitor is not. Both surgeries were performed by the same surgeon, in Boston. One tear may be worse than the other, I don't know, but it looks like Vitor's rehab, in Spain, didn't go as well as Wallace's.

Re: slow here, is everyone depressed now?
Young is injured. I hope he'll be able to return soon.
I believe Vitor is a tantalizing player who simply doesn't fit into any long-term plans this team might have. To succeed, they'll need running, motion, and picks, and those just aren't in his DNA. To the extent that Brad considers them to need bigs who can shoot the three, they have two. Whether his departure means an opportunity for Powell or is a precursor for something bigger, I believe the jury has returned and he is guilty of not having major potential. And I haven't even taken his injury into consideration.

Thanks I was wondering about Kelly O.
gave Joel some good minutes last night though, I will refrain from making bad comments about the vet.
didn't they say Young would be week to week now?
that's kind of a big deal for a rookie I think.
I hope they can drop Fav one way or another, I've never thought much of him myself.
Powell WILL have to do more than be active to earn a spot though, IMO. Just running around and doing nothing isn't going to cut it this year.

Had to work and missed the last two games, but I'm not discouraged by the results. We're missing two starters, and Zeller is just beginning to get comfortable. Hawk

Re: slow here, is everyone depressed now?
I don't think anyone is depressed. There are just times when people aren't on here as much. For instance, I spent much of yesterday doing things that didn't involve much of being on a computer, as with today.
As for the team's play, there has been a bit of preseason shuffling, due to injuries, and fatigue. I think there's plenty of bright spots to be optimistic about this team once healthy.

Depressed... over exhibition games? Nah; I expect the ups and downs, especially with a changing roster.
...over my Orioles starting the ALCS 0-2 at home? Yes.
...over my son's football team missing an undefeated season after losing our last regular season game Sunday after I elected to receive to start the game despite our crushing defense? Yes.
...but not over what we've seen so far in the NBA pre-season. I see signs of building. There will be ups and downs for a while.
Besides...
The Orioles can still come back if the pitching is there.
The football team already locked up the #1 playoff seed.
The Celtics are accumulating a few players that may be part of the turnaround.
The glass is still half full.

And to add after the previous SU football game (Maryland) I was convinced they would not win another game this season, played poorly and lost their starting QB.... but then a remarkable thing happened and a true freshman played like a seasoned vet against the then #1 Florida State...sure they lost 38-20 but they played quite well. Considering SU has no one that would crack into FSU's starting lineup. 5 star recruits vs a bunch of 2 or perhaps a couple of 3 star ones tops.
Actually think a couple more wins are there for them to take.
As for the C's, a whole lot of things need to sort themselves out...I have to wonder how in the world do we have 4 exhibition games in 6 days? That seems a bit strange to me. And we can't blame it on Mr. Potato head either.

Matty,
In the Hooters out here they serve Jameson and pickle juice. Try it sometime (assuming you drink whiskey). Sounds weird but tastes great.

Matty,
Jamesons, as you probably know, is Irish Whiskey (as far as I'm concerned it's the only Irish Whiskey worth drinking). The pickle juice is a chaser, it is not mixed.

Re: slow here, is everyone depressed now?
BRadley got hurt in the last game, ankle, leg? Something happened. That
Bis why Brad say him the rest of the game. Now Crash has a bruised leg, he's out, Green in coming back. I think we may see a Turner/Green combo at some point.
The guy from Grantland has Green getting traded. Lots of teams want him. I wonder why OKC isn't looking to get him back now that Durant is hurt. I hope he is wrong.

Rosalie,
Interesting point about Oklahoma City possibly trying to get Green. I'll take Ibaka, thank you. Ibaka for Green and Murphy. Yeah, that'll happen.

Green, a second rounder for Perk a future first and t he right for boston to swap picks in 2018 if they so choose and I'd be all over that as well.
