Rondo Says '79% Chance He Plays In Opener'
Boy, do I feel better because, if he had said 78%, we'd have had to go with Plan B. Remember when he counted down the seconds to his return last year? This is what happens when someone with an active mind has way too much time on his hands...

Rondo says '79 percent' chance he'll play in Celtics opener

It turns out Rajon Rondo was onto something when he said the 6-8 week recovery timeline for his broken right hand meant nothing to him.
Less than five weeks after undergoing surgery to repair that hand, Rondo now says he is likely to play in the Boston Celtics' season opener against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Rondo missed the entire preseason and training camp because of the injury.
Rondo, who is entering the final year of his contract and has been featured in countless trade rumors, has played in only 68 games over the last two seasons because of a torn ACL suffered in 2013.
Rondo averaged 11.7 points, 9.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 30 games last season.

If nothing else, Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is tough as nails.
Less than a month after suffering a broken hand, Rondo was on the court taking part in full-contact practices this week. What's more, he could conceivably play in the Celtics' season opener next Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.

#Celtics G Rajon Rondo made it through today's full contact practice with no glitches or setbacks. Could potentially play Wed vs #nets.

The original prognosis on Rondo called for the star point guard to return in six-to-eight weeks.
The Celtics may choose to ease Rondo back into action by limiting his minutes, but he'll undoubtedly reclaim the starting point guard position. The Celtics have a number of options in Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, Phil Pressey and even Evan Turner should they find themselves short on ball-handlers.
Rondo played 30 games last season while recovering from ACL surgery. He averaged 11.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game upon his return, though his shooting dipped to a career-low 40.3 percent from the field.

Leave it to Rondo to give a prime number as a percentage.
