but waive Travis Outlaw, Marquis Teague and Eliot Williams.  Outlaw was acquired from the Knicks in a trade for Arnett Moultrie.  I guess Moultrie was doing too well for the Sixers to want to keep. According to the article, Eliot Williams had a strong pre-season, so there's a good reason for the Sixers to cut him.

The Sixers' roster stands at 15 players.

According to a source, the team on Monday waived Travis Outlaw, Marquis Teague and Elliot Williams.

After trading third-year player Arnett Moultrie to the Knicks for Travis Outlaw Monday afternoon (see story), the Sixers waived the 30-year-old.

Teague was acquired in a trade with Brooklyn last Friday. In the deal the Sixers also received a 2019 second-round pick.

The former No. 29 overall pick is in the final year of his rookie contract. He practiced with the Sixers the past couple days, but it is possible Teague was never in the team's long-term plans.

Teague has a guaranteed contract for $1.1 million this season.

Williams was also in the final year of his contract, but it was the team's option.

Williams played 67 games for the Sixers last season, averaging 6.0 points and 1.9 rebounds. Williams finished the season strong, scoring in double figures 10 of the final 12 games.

His strong play continued this preseason. Williams averaged 11.0 points, 2.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds, while shooting 50 percent from the floor, including 44.4 percent from three-point range.

Players considered on the bubble that did make the roster include Chris Johnson, JaKarr Sampson and Brandon Davies.

Below is the Sixers' 15-man roster:

Roster
Michael Carter-Williams, PG
Brandon Davies, PF
Joel Embiid, C
Jerami Grant, SF
Chris Johnson, SF
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, PF
K.J. McDaniels, SG
Nerlens Noel, PF
Jason Richardson, SG
JaKarr Sampson, PF
Alexey Shved, PG
Henry Sims, C
Malcolm Thomas, PF
Hollis Thompson, SG
Tony Wroten, SG

MY NOTE:  If Shved is their backup PG, then they need Bynum.  I know he's ancient by their standards but he can teach them how to play.
