Re: So Long Rondo
On the bright side from my house…
Got a chocolate lab early this year, had tried to get a male and was going to name it Rondo.
Ended up with a female from the litter instead.
Wouldn't have wanted a dog named after a Dallas Mav, so that worked out.

Mavs went from a good team to a front line contender.
Dirk, Chandler, Parsons, Ellis and Rondo is a formidable starting 5.

Nice touch! Went with Genny, after a local beer.
Would have called it Cousy, if we went with a male yellow lab.

Shared a house in college in the early 70's with a few buddies and we had a dog that I named Epod.
That's dope spelled backwards which we were a bunch of, and which we used a bunch of.

Re: So Long Rondo
Excerpt from recent article on the trade:
"Rondo has never been the alpha dog on a good NBA offense. The C’s have scored at a worse rate with Rondo on the floor for three years running, and they were generally mediocre even at their championship peak. He’s shooting 41 percent this season and a laughable 12-of-36 from the foul line. His turnovers are through the roof, and a disturbing number of them have been unforced. Rondo has coughed up the ball on 32 percent of the pick-and-rolls he has finished this season, the worst rate among all 85 players who have run at least 50 such plays, per Synergy Sports. Dead stinking last."

Well, he is their problem now! You do have to admit that he was a truly exciting guy at times. I wonder if Smart is going to make us forget him?

Re: So Long Rondo
For me, this is harder than trading Pierce and KG, because Rondo isn't on the downside. Hawk

Re: So Long Rondo
I was just watching a video clip of the Rondo/Dallas press conference.
looking at Powell's face....Man oh man!!
I feel bad for that guy, he's been with FOUR teams since draft day!!!
5 games something like 9 minutes of play, he looks like he's shell shocked now.
welcome to the NBA rookie I guess.
wow.

Re: So Long Rondo
Guys like Rondo come along once in a while. If you are lucky, you are the one who drafts him. He was a highlight film all by himself at times. Up or down swing, he is gone. I think from the sounds of it,, Danny had no choice. He was not going to pay hin $100 million plus, that is all there is too it. Can't blame Rondo, they are throwing around money like crazy in the NBA.
Next one is Jeff Green. He is going to want Chandler Parsons $, but he will not get it here, so he will be traded before he opt's out and then the Celtics will be in the same position as Kevin McHale was.
Just thoughts of a Celtics fan who enjoyed most of Rondo's time here. Those games where he held the ball for 18 seconds of the 24 second clock and then passed to a player who had
to force up a bad shot drove us all nuts.
Let's see how smart Smart is going to be. This could be fun
