Alston wanted to play for the Celts
According to this interview, Rafer Alston wanted to play for Boston after being bought out by NJ earlier this year (he got picked up by Miami). He played for Tom T in Houston and liked him (+). He also slapped Eddie House in the playoffs last year (-).
He's a decent guard, not great by any stretch of the imagination and not a good shooter, who played well for Orlando against us and against the Lakers. He would have settled our backup point guard situation definitively. I wonder why Danny didn't make him an offer?
