Thanks for this update, International. Brad said after the last game that Wright needed to get minutes. Which was probably a sly way of suggesting those minutes might not be with Boston because Brad couldn't find a place for Wright in the rotation.

As for Jeff Green, if he goes, I'll hate to see it. But I'll wish him well, and I bet he'll flourish playing with Conley.

Since I'm an eternal optimist, the floor around me is filled with crumpled papers with rationalizations for a Jeff Green trade. Several have James' name on them, but I'm having trouble coming up with something better than, "Play the young kids." I have no objection to playing the young kids; in fact it's a pleasure to watch someone like Young. But I always have to know there's a reason other than just doling out minutes. My favorite reason would be that he's able to play within the "womb" of some experienced players. However, it appears that the "womb" is headed in the direction of a miscarriage.

Oh well, in the meantime, I'm going for the world's record of consecutive crumpled paper "makes" into a wastebasket. I'm already up to one.

Some day I would like to hear why the Celtics didn't give Wright more of a chance to show himself while he was here.

He was the backup center on a team that was better than the Cs, the Cs have been weak at the center spot for several years, neither Sullenger nor Olynyk are centers and still Wright never got to show himself.  In fact, he was reduced to DNP in his last game with the Celtics.

I did not expect him to be handed the starting position upon deplaning because Zeller has well earned the starting job, but there still was no back up behind him. And, now there still is no back up behind him.

Perhaps Danny and Brad saw something in practice that lead to the decision to let him go.  Maybe that was the idea all along, who knows.

What we do know now is that for the Rondo trade, we now have:

1. Two 1st round picks and one 2nd round pick:

1A. Minny 2015 or 2016, protected 1-12, or 2nd rounders, 2016 & 2017
1B. 2015 1st (not sure of the protection levels)
1C. 2016 2nd

2. Nelson (soon to be bought out?)

3. Crowder (the only keeper?)

4. $12.9M TPE (Rondo's salary)

5. The $5M TPE we used to get Wright extended out for another year
