I'll go through some stat categories and see what stands out as our team strengths and weaknesses.

One that stands out is our team 3pt%, 32.7, good for 27th in the league.

21st in FG%, probably from taking a high number of 3s at such a low rate.

After the All Star Break, which is the only time this roster was together, our 3pt% was 25th, but our overall FG% dropped to 24th. And yet we were able to put up an outstanding record because of the defense. But boosting that FG% and 3pt% up to roughly average might just improve this team more than blocking more shots.

And SF was a real source of weakness for our 3pt%. Evan Turner shot 28% from deep on 1.5 attemps per game, while Crowder also shot 28% on 3 attempts per.

Smart shot 34% (well, 33.5) on 4.1 per game.
Bradley shot 35% on 4.6 threes a game.
IT4 shot 34.5% on threes in Boston.
KO shot 35% on 2.7 threes per.

After the all star break, those %s are even worse.

One thing that's clear is that Crowder, Sully, Pressey, and probably Smart need to shoot less threes. But for that to become a reality, we need other outside shooters on the floor with them who can get clean looks from 3.

I think in April, when every game meant life or death playoff-wise, the team really became more disciplined with their shot selections.

A small forward with a good 3 point shot would be very useful, and hopefully James Young can at least earn some minutes, if we don't upgrade that position otherwise.

Celtics dead last in blocks.
4th in opposing FG%, but practically in a three-way tie for second. That's elite in that category.
10th lowest 3pt fgs allowed. That's good, as expected.
But only 16th in overall opponent FG%. Still average

Celtics were only 22th in effective FG% at 49%
15th in opponent effective FG% 49%

Celtics FTRate was 28th in the league. That means we need to attack the rim more and draw more fouls.

3pt rate was 13th highest in the nba, which means Celtics weren't chucking it from deep as much as I thought. Just missing the 3s they did take.

Celtics tied for 7th in ball security/turnovers, which means they took good care of the ball. A lot of our losses were games where they got sloppy and turned it over way above their average rate.
