Re: Celtics Workout Thread
I like Rozier and think he could start over Bradley as a rookie.
But I like Andrew Harrison very much as well.
Both Rozier and Andrew have experience playing SG, which Andrew did some this year with Tyler Ulis playing point.
Andrew shot 38% from 3 for the season, and 80% from the FT line. I think his stock is low because he's not a true point guard, and he doesn't finish well inside the 3 point line, but I think he could be a sneaky valuable pick at 33, as a utility player able to back up three positions, PG, SG, and SF. He's a good defender, can guard three positions, and is a clutch player not afraid of the big moment.
If we were in the middle of a playoff run and a key player perimeter player went down, Andrew could come in and hold his own, kind of like how Delavedova has done for Cleveland with Irving hurt.

CELTICS BRING IN A PAIR OF UMASS PLAYERS FOR WEDNESDAY PRE-DRAFT WORKOUTS
06.03.15 at 9:33 am ET
By Mike Petraglia
WALTHAM — As pre-draft workouts continue, the Celtics are hosting another six players on Wednesday at their practice facility.
One day after working out four point guards, the Celtics are turning their focus to six big men, as it widely assumed they will be focused on bringing in a young impact forward/center to help with defense and rebounding in the paint.
Two of the six players scheduled Wednesday are from UMass. The six players scheduled to work out Wednesday are:
Kevin Capers – Florida Southern (D-II)
This player is completely unknown on draftexpress.com
6'1", 150#. Division II Champion.
Maxie Esho — UMass
6'8", 215#. Second Workout for the Celtics for Esho.
Alpha Kaba — France
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Alpha-Kaba-76960/
6'10", 225#, 19 years old. Projected to go #46.
He looks long, but 6'10", 215#? Alpha beta start eating...
Cady Lalanne – UMass
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Cady-Lalanne-40774/
6'10", 240#, 7'5" wingspan (whoa! Baby!). Projected to go #65 (i.e. undrafted).
2015 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament Measurements and Analysis
April 11, 2015
On top of his terrific measurements, Cady Lalanne has helped himself with a very productive showing at the PIT, playing with much better energy and focus than he displayed in his UMass career. He has terrific length for a center, and even showed some ability to play the power forward position with a developing jump-shot. Even though he weighs 241 pounds, he appears to have a frame that can continue to fill out. There aren't many players in this draft who have a wingspan that is 8.75 inches greater than their height without shoes, so expect Lalanne to get plenty of workouts and stay on the NBA radar screen even if he doesn't hear his name called on draft night.
Larry Nance — Wyoming
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Larry-Nance-42170/
6'9", 227#, 7'1 1/2" wingspan, 9'0" standing reach.
NBA Combine Competitive Action Recap: Day One
May 14, 2015
8 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, 1 steal, 3-5 2P, 0-1 3P, 5 fouls, 21 minutes
Larry Nance did a good job of showing teams what his role in the NBA might look like, playing with great energy and intensity and grabbing 8 rebounds in 21 minutes, while playing strong defense, particularly on the pick and roll. His mobility and length at 6-9 allows his team to defend the pick and roll in a variety of ways, and he showed no issues switching onto guards even if called upon.
Offensively, Nance was constantly in motion, cutting, sprinting, and hustling non-stop, playing unselfishly and finding ways to contribute without a single play being called for him. Nance's offensive skill-level remains a work in progress and he didn't show the best feel for the game forcing the issue running into brick walls at times, but that goes with the territory of playing in this setting and that is a fairly easy thing to cut out of his game. Players like Lou Amundson have found a way to make a career out of doing the little things Nance displayed in the first game, and continuing along the same path will undoubtedly earn him some more workouts and opportunities to impress NBA teams.
As you can tell from the pic, definitely NOT related to former NBA player Larry Nance...
T.J. Price – Western Kentucky
6'4", 227#, 6'9" wingspan

Slovenian big man Ziga Dimec has worked out for the 76ers so far and will be working out for the Mavericks on June 11, the Celtics on June 16 and the Bucks on June 17.
Dimec will also have a group workout in Las Vegas on June 12.
The Slovenian center born in 1993 has played with Rogaska this season averaging 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game shooting 70% from the field.

Last year, he averaged 24.4mpg, shot 70% from the floor, 72% from the line.
At least they're working out a BIG man. Enough with the wings, already.

WALTHAM -- Pat Connaughton and Dakari Johnson will headline the Boston Celtics' six-man pre-draft workout Wednesday morning.
Courtesy of the team, the full list of participants follows:
Dakari Johnson – Kentucky
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dakari-Johnson-6470/
7'0", 265#, 19 years old.
6'11" without shoes, 6'11 3/4" with shoes (?), 7'2" wingspan
Projected to go #44. How the hell does someone this big go #44 unless he's a stiff?
14.9% body fat, up from 10.5%. Alarm bells are going off.
Pat Connaughton – Notre Dame
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Pat-Connaughton-40714/
6'5", 215#, 22 years old, 6'8 1/2" wingspan. 37 1/2" no step vertical, 44" max vertical. This is a white boy? Wow. Uber-athlete Aaron Gordon had a 32 1/2" no step vertical and a 39" max vertical.
Shot 42% from 3 at Notre Dame. Hometown boy from Arlington, MA.
Simone Fontecchio – Italy
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Simone-Fontecchio-62371/
6'6", 200#, 19 years old.
Matt Stainbrook – Xavier (OH)
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Matt-Stainbrook-16435/
6'10", 283#, 23 years old, 7'0 1/2" wingspan. This is one big kid.
Darrun Hilliard – Villanova
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Darrun-Hilliard-42105/
6'6", 220#, 22 years old, 6'9" wingspan.
Shot 39% from 3.
Royce O'Neale – Baylor
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Royce-O-Neale-40897/stats/
6'5", 215#, 22 years old, 6'10" wingspan.
Projected to go #46.
Shot 44% from 3 last year.
DraftExpress has Johnson ranked No. 48 among the top prospects in this draft. The 7-footer came off the Kentucky bench behind some great players, but possesses enough size to draw NBA interest.
He and Connaughton (58), an Arlington native who stood out at the NBA Draft combine last month, could both be second-round picks, while everyone else could struggle to get drafted.

Connaughton and I both grew up in Arlington, MA. Amazing physical similarities too. Just a matter of altering a few decimals here and there.

Sam for real I went to school with his Mother and Father. His Dad was a good player but he certainly couldn't dunk. Would love to see him on the Celtics.

Ha! Yes I could dunk but it certainly wasn't with authority, more like with about 1/16th of an inch to spare.....
