Rose to Celts? AKA Sensationalism , Inc.
What has been laking from this board has been solid conjecture about what moves the Celtics might make this summer. I've been amazed that I haven't read one word about possible trades, draft picks or free agent acquisitions.
So I view it as my duty to post this obviously well-researched and highly credible article on the pending trade between the Celts and Bulls in which the Celts would part with half their team in return for Derrick Rose and a hospital bed. I feel so strongly about the veracity of this piece and so excited about trading for a short guy with deteriorating knees that I'm actually moved to predict a trade for Rose by this coming Friday. Maybe Saturday is the asylum is locked on Fridays.
Anyway, here goes (said the baby to the mommy who was loosening the diaper):

NBA News & Rumors: Derrick Rose to be Traded to Boston Celtics?

CHICAGO, IL - APRIL 27: Derrick Rose #1 and Jimmy Butler #21 of the Chicago Bulls wait for a member of the Milwaukee Bucks to shoot a free throw during the first round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs at the United Center on April 27, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. For avid NBA followers, this may not be the first time you may have heard of Derrick Rose subject to possible trade rumors.
Rose, severely battered by injuries to his knees, raised some questions before he proved to one and all that there is a reason why he is a one-time NBA Most Valuable Player. He did that when he made a questionable but successful return during the NBA playoffs.
True enough, Rose somehow managed to show glimpses of his explosiveness on the hardwood. He was instrumental in some key games of the Chicago Bulls but unfortunately it was not enough to lift the tam towards a possible NBA Finals stint.
When the Bulls campaign ended, talk about a brewing conflict between Rose and rising star Jimmy Butler came up, particularly during game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals where the Bulls succumbed to the Lebron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.
That incident further spurred trade rumors, actually on both.
For Butler, he is set to become a free agent is likely to be offered a max deal by other teams. Rose has two years left on his 5-year deal with the Bulls worth $94,314,380.
Now, the rumor mill is swirling. Will the Bulls seriously consider Derrick Rose trade and for which team?
A possible destination could be the Boston Celtics. Rose could be traded along with one other player from the Chicago team where the Celtics could consider offering Isaiah Thomas, Jared Sullinger and perhaps other players they can dispatch.
In this scenario, the Celtics could get the much needed leader, playmaker and big time scorer they need and probably add some more free agents available by July. This could improve the team’s chances next season, not to mention improve on their breakthrough season this year that saw them advance to the NBA playoffs.
For the Bulls, the move could mean they have a better chance of retaining Butler and a better outlook. Butler’s impressive season makes him a prime target, young and a prime time scorer. He proved that especially when Rose was still in sick bay.
Given that possible trade scenario, should the Bulls consider it?
It may all depend since the big question here is Rose’ health. Three consecutive knee injuries are bound to hamper the Derrick Rose of old and there is no telling how the team could perform if they take a chance on the one-time MVP.
On the other end, Butler’s loyalty and maturity comes into mind. Destined for an expected max contract by next season, is Butler committed to the Bulls?
The Bulls have had that odd culture that puts premium on loyalty and obedience. Rose seems to have embraced that judging by the fact that he is still there. But for Butler, it may all depend on his path this coming free agency.
Will a Derrick Rose trade to the Celtics be realistic? The Bulls stand to benefit since it would rid them of Rose’ fat contract, allowing them to offer it instead to Butler. But does Butler want to stay aside from his rift with Rose?
The worst case scenario is the Bulls do trade Rose and then fail to re-sign Butler if he opts to join another ballclub.
While it is easy to ignore a Rose trade for now, it is not entirely out of the question. Rose has already evolved into a proven leader and player though his health is a concern. Butler is a future star but will still have to evolve.

This is writing a story just to write a story.
I don't think there's any way Boston wants Rose.
His worst case scenario in the 3rd to last sentence is factually incorrect.
Butler is a restricted free agent.
They can and will match any offer Butler receives.
They do not have to worry about losing Butler unless they choose to let him sign with another team.

TJ,
You're right. But I've felt so tortured by the lack of trade rumors that I felt i just had to post one.
