Barf-nani Signs With Brooklyn
Does this make them better, or just softer?
He signed for the veteran's minimum, for 2 years (unknown if there is an option on the second year). He made $12M last year. He was the #1 pick in the 2006 draft so he was earmarked for greatness. Of course. #2 pick Hashem Thabeet plays in the D-league and got ejected in a summer league game today. #2 pick Michael Beasley is currently unemployed.
The funny thing is, you would think he would excel in the Triangle. He is a Pau Gasol type of player.
The initial rumor was that he was about to go to Sacto. Now they're saying no to that and yes to Brooklyn.

Somehow I don't believe this signing should elevate Cowens' blood pressure abut the value of Brooklyn's pick next year.

Tell me this statement from Bargnani isn't the funniest thing you've heard in decades:
"I am now a veteran in the NBA, and, you know, I would like to sign with a team that can give me the opportunity to win a ring.”
So he signs with THE NETS!!!

Maybe they have one of those crane things from the video arcades in the locker room. He might be able to win a ring from one of those.

steve,
More evidence of cluelessness: you never, never, never sign with the crosstown rivals.

How about if the Nets treat him to a carousel ride where he can grab a ring. (I assume two or three board members remember carousels.)

This was tweeted before he signed for the vet minimum with Brooklyn. Shaq-tin a fool here.

Andrea Bargnani informed teams he'd return overseas if given long-term deal worth $10 million, said Euro GM.
