You really have to feel a little sorry for this kid. With a father like this, he has put a target on the kid's back with everyone in the league shooting for him. His success is going to take longer than they expected, or more than Daddy-O thought it would take.
It is a shame that this has take so long to implement. Not that I think this will stop him

Everyone in the league SHOULD shoot for him. Since he can't.

Just turned 20 and with only 23 pro games under his belt - I'll wait another 3 years or so before tagging him with a failure or successful label. Even then there are some that are real late bloomers.

Not saying he's guaranteed to be a failure. I just prefer Tatum.

Lavar is doing a great job of branding, but a terrible job of keeping his mouth shut when he needs to. I feel bad for Lonzo. The hype and his father's lack of humility is getting him roasted. Ironically, Lonzo doesn't even put off that kind of arrogant demeanor.

Magic should have had that rule in place from day one.

Bell the father is going to kill Bell the son/NBA player.
Dad is a total nut. The Lakers thought that they would be able to control him,
but he has not even gone off completely yet. There will be more to come, and
it will not likely be good.
Some changes made to where he can be interviewed will not deter him. Dad will be
a coach killer as long as his son is in the league.

Re: Lakers now enforcing the "Lavar Ball Rule"
Snoop Dogg said it best about Lonzo; “I think his father put him in the lion’s den with some pork chop drawers on,” “He’s going to have to work himself out of it.”
And have you seen the latest on LiAngelo? Lavar is pulling him out of UCLA because he thinks the suspension is too harsh after the incident in China. He's planning on trying to have his son play professionally overseas and then maybe having him enter the 2018 draft.
When the whole nonsense started with the shoe company and it became clear that Lonzo was going top 3 in the draft, I thought LaVar may have hit a home run for himself and his family. He had the free publicity he needed to sell some ridiculously overpriced shoes and build from the ground up. He just needed to check his ego, and let the news wave around his three sons carry everything along.
But no, dad's ego and big mouth had a growth spurt.
He's creating unneeded distractions for three talented sons and putting what could be the story of three brothers playing in the NBA into jeopardy. He could close his fat mouth and take pride in his sons doing something incredible. Instead, his need to ride them for his own personal fulfillment could end up killing their chances to reach their potential.
Incredibly selfish. Monumentally stupid. Possibly becoming a borderline tragic story for his three sons future prospects. Worse yet, the kids seem very respectful (with the exception of some shoplifting...what an idiotic move), so I doubt they'll tell dad to shut up. Ironic if the only good parenting lesson he seems to have had a hand in teaching is what sinks them.

Re: Lakers now enforcing the "Lavar Ball Rule"
Now I read that he is considering getting him ready to send overseas to play ball. He is still a kid, that showed with the shoplifting problem. Lavar says he can train him better than UCLA for the pros. What, put a bigger target on his back than his brother already has.
This reminds me of the story of the football player out in California who's father rode him and rode him, until he became a huge college quarterback. Unfortunately, he introduced himself to the drug world and never made it, but made a mess of his life. Tragic. I can't remember his name, but I am sure most of you do. They had a 30 for 30 show on him and how his life became overcome by all of the pressure.
Lavar Ball is going to do the same thing to these kids unless one of them is strong enough to stop him . Right now I do not see that happening
