the big washed up old ticket
Kg is flat whipping young ass in these playoffs. He is playing good and he is going to be a force next season. In spite of all the funeral arrangements.

Jeb,
Loved his full-court dash off a made Cavs basket for the touchdown pass and jam.
Also his key block that shocked the Cavs and sprang the Celts on a 2-on-1.
He also looked like his old self on perimeter defense, crouching like a panther and even clapping his hands.
A lot of great moments to remember from this one.

Not being a doctor, I can't guarantee the following but:
How long did it take for Tony Allen to fully recover from his knee injury? Two - three years? Could it be the KG is on the same path? If so, next year could be even better than this one and who knows - maybe we'll be going for banner 19!

Berlin,
I tend to think along those lines as well. KG is still in the recovery mode.
KG had the operation to remove the bone spur that caused his knee to lock up. The knee was weakened due to the operation and post-op inactivity. Then he had the two hyper-extensions in a short time, which resulted in more inactivity.
That "walnut sized" spur didn't grow overnight. It was causing wear and tear more and more each year as it grew in size. It had to impede him in some fashion in his first season as a Celtic.
After a summer of rest and strengthing the knee, I believe he will come back stronger than anything we have seen from him as a Celtic.

Doc has said all along that it will take 2 years for KG to be 100% back from that injury.
I've seen improvements throughout the season, so I'm not totally surprised.

bobh, jeb and others -
i hadn't even thought of the fact, now obvious, that knee recovery takes time, energy and work - but especially time - to get maximal recovery. i oughta have thought of that - i've had nine of em.
the thought that the best of KG, or even the equal of the KG we've seen in the fairly recent past, may yet be on its way is a wonderful bouyant thought that will keep me happy for a while !
Michael
PS: late in the season, and though i remained a fan, i wasn't sure where the C's were headed, and at the same time thought the Nuggets would get to the western conf finals - certainly that they'd dispatch Utah.
now i know where we're headed, mano a mano against a talented deep team with enough weapons, grit and execution on our team to compete head to head, while the Nuggets have long since cleaned out their lockers.
shows what i know !
