Kyrie Irving out, Al Horford questionable vs. Chicago Bulls

Looks like the C's will have to go deep into their bench tonight with Irving and Morris scratched from the lineup and Horford questionable:

Well that stinks.

This is still a game that needs to be won regardless of some injuries.

Next man (men) up!

Rozier wants to be a starter?  Maybe he gets his chance or, at least, will play heavy minutes to help make up for Kyrie's.

The thinness of depth at center will haunt us.  If not tonight, sometime.

On the other hand, if we can beat Chicago without 2 starters and THE offense coming off the bench then we're in good shape.

Semi and Yabby might get minutes if Brad goes small.

Nader should get a shot.  We need offense off the bench.  Brad just needs to tell him "go out there and do what you do".

Al Horford will play.

Morris says he bumped a knee in a recent game and it feels like something new.

But even before then, they were still holding him out of back to backs implying possible damaged goods. Knee soreness shouldn't last indefinitely, but his seems to. Maybe he will need surgery. Who knows?

This could be a Wally Pipp chance for Semi and Yabusele, but more likely Danny might want to add two rotation guys more ready to compete in playoffs.

It doesn't have to be anything crazy like the Perkins trade to get a backup for Pierce. That was using a machine gun to shoot a mosquito. Just fortify the few holes. Yabusele is a long shot to produce this year and Semi is sort of a very minimal role player, a big small to cover LeBron types. He's like Bradley as a rookie. Hey, he might be good to have against Wade for defense because he wasn't ready for offense. That sort of thing. They might both be very good eventually. Too bad Yabs isn't the one further along.

It seems to be a tightrope to compete both now and for the future.
