The Boston Celtics waived Guerschon Yabusele on Wednesday, sparking a small flurry of interest in what the team will do with its final roster spot.

According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the Celtics’ roster might undergo even more change before the season starts up in October.

Per source, the Cs in the coming weeks could fill the 15th roster spot created by Guerschon's departure, but there's still a good chance that there will be more change before opening night.

Per source, the Celtics might even ultimately add 2 more players and enter training camp with 16 guaranteed contracts, as they've done in the past. It's pretty clear that with so many young guys and unknown quantities, they want to get a look at as many players as possible.

And before you ask, the Celtics probably aren’t making these moves with Tacko Fall in mind (although he could still earn his spot, certainly).

And since plenty are asking, as of now there are no plans for Tacko Fall to claim the Celtics' 15th roster spot. Plan is still for him to enter camp on his Exhibit 10 deal and proceed from there.

A few things about this.

- First, further roster changes sounds somewhat ominous, but the most likely scenario is that this gives the Celtics a chance to take a couple of extra swings before the start of the season. As Carsen Edwards and Tremont Waters shine at Summer League, the Celtics may very well be curious what else they could bring on board. Plenty of floor-spacing fours are still out there, including -- as Boston Sports Journal’s Brian Robb noted -- old Celtics friend Jonas Jerebko.

- The fan-favorite option: Convert Waters to a guaranteed deal from his two-way and sign Fall to a two-way deal. The former could be in the cards -- the Celtics have a ton of point guards, but Waters has shown some real flashes as a potential role player in the league. Boston might want to see him in camp/preseason first, but there’s a whole lot to like in his game. Tacko, however popular he may be, probably needs to show a bit more before he gets a valuable spot on the roster.

- The Celtics may still be in the market for a starting big man, but acquiring one would likely mean a trade. Boston may very well prefer to see what it has on its current team before making a huge decision to trade an important member of its core just to make the roster more coherent.

'Good chance' is most likely an understatement.

Of course there are still changes coming. November rosters are not set in stone by July.
