I voted today

Fans do not vote for the best players but if the simply used points per game and nothing else Brown at #23 and Tatum at #22 would be legit as would Kemba at #19. So if the top 24 scorers in the NBA should be on the team we have 3 in the top 23 and in the East 3 of the top 10.

You do not have to vote for any players in the West.  I only vote for 5 Celtics that is it

I have never been a fan of Ben Simmons. As far as I am concerned, he is overrated, period, AND OVERPAID

How he has kept his status is beyond me.. I am not even a huge Embid fan. He is talented, there is no doubt about that, but he is so fragile. I do not think he will ever play a full 82 game season and that, to me, is a concern for a big like him.

I read a story where the Celts are interested in Covington. That is an interesting addition to this team.

He makes almost $13 million per

The Celtics options are very limited in making trades. Maybe some guy gets bought out before the end of the season and we can pick him up on the cheap.

MY NOTE: Another good reason to vote? In the article Grant says he double votes with 2 different IDs. I do that too. Why not? Once they are set up it doesn't take much longer to pick the same players twice and submit your votes twice.

I have reconsidered my thoughts on this subject.  I decided to play Devil's Advocate.

Who here has actually watched an NBA All-Star game in the last 10 years?

*crickets*

That is what I thought.

I would rather have our guys take the time off and spend it with their families.

I would rather have our guys recharge their batteries and get ready for the playoffs.

I would rather NOT have any of our guys get hurt in a meaningless game.

I would rather have our guys voted "All-League" at the end of the season.

There, I said it.  Please go easy on me.

Your friend,

John Milton

Yo Meph, how are ya? Haven't seen you since the last family get-together.

You make some great points, let me address them.

1. No offense meant, but I don't care about their families (like I said, haven't seen you since our last one)

2. The odds of an injury in an All-Star game are relatively low since nobody is playing defense.

3. What are the chances of them being named All-League if they weren't named All-Stars?

4. People said the same thing about them playing together on the USA team too, and it turned to be HUGE for chemistry.

5. Remember when IT was an All-Star and he kibbitzed with Al Horford, and Horford ended up signing with us? The best way to attract elite talent is for our elite talent to schmooze with them and the more elite talent we can put in one room with them the more impressive it is.

See you around the BBQ pit, bro.

Bob,

No problem. I am (by definition) just a person who expresses a contentious opinion in order to provoke debate or test the strength of the opposing arguments.

Still your friend,

John Milton

Actually upon reflection, John Milton was the devil as well. That makes me Kevin Lomax.

That's what I get when I multitask during work.

you two have nothing better to do than address this "issue"???

Young guys have big egos, at least that is what I have observed.

Watching other Youngun's, why should ours have their face rubbed in it? elect them to the game
this is what they think they work for. recognition!

I think they should play the game and not keep score.....

I also think Kyrie should be ousted, he does not deserve it, Kemba does. That egomaniac
is only coming back so he will be able to go, just like he pulled last year.

When you have that BBQ, make sure you invite us all, even though I cannot drink, I am a hoot at a party

Rosalie,

I am supposed to be working. Luckily, I am working from home so no one can catch me at it. (I hope)

We would never NOT invite you. drunken

Rosalie,

I'm in a hotel in Buenos Aires. We had a thunderstorm this morning and it's still a little wet out there. It's too early for dinner. So actually, uh, yeah, I don't have anything better to do.

And of course you'll be there.

We still have 3 players that are in the running for an all-star berth.

The fans select the starters and in the east based on position and votes it looks like.  Giannis, Siakum and Embid will be in the front court and Young and Irving will be in the backcourt

Irving has played only 15 games and has not come close to being an all-star this year.

The remaining 7 players on the East squad should include Butler, Walker, Tatum. Levin, Brown and Beal.  The 12th guy will likely be Simmons.
