If I were Danny, I would make a few calls to Portland and check on Greg's availability as far as a trade goes. If the Blazers are open to a trade, then I say why not?! (Depending on whom we would have to give up... Kendrick Perkins?) This guy can flat out change games with his defense. And is a beast on the boards. Exactly what we need. GET IT DONE DANNY!

BB, I can't imagine Portland will let go of Greg Oden, injured or not. Which sets me off one one of my favorite rants: big men need time for their bones and joints to mature and really are not designed to take the pounding of an 82+ game season at age 19 - unless they're freaky strong like KG was. I wish the NBA would let these guys mature physically rather than putting their skeletal development at risk by overplaying them so much when they're so young.

I am in total agreement there Bob. Although Oden had so much talent, who knows what is left of him. I'd rather take my chances with rehabbing Perk and getting another big.

I think that, because we're down two bigs, we need two more bigs. My hope is that, IF Perk makes a comeback in the second half of the coming season, the Celtics will then have the luxury of five pretty good bigs for purposes of matchups and foul utilization. Aside from the two bigs, get a defensive SF with the vets minimum, sign Tony, and let's start the season.

I won't be shocked if a backup big and/or a swing man could even emerge from the summer league.
