Russell Westbrook on the trade block now?

With Houston president Daryl Morey stepping down a year after his controversial retweet about China/Hong Kong, league sources believe the Rockets are likelier to look into trading away explosive All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook.


I'm not saying we should look at him at all, but hard to see the Knicks not being interested.

Maybe but the knicks need to add salaries since Westbrook has a big cap number.

Westbrook has a $41M salary next year, Knicks are over the cap, so they need to send somewhere around $32M in salarys back.

along with #8 pick works salary wise for instance. Gibson and Payton have parial guarantees, so they can be released by Houston if they want.

Houston will be re-tooling it seems, IMO because Harden can't seem to get along with other star players ( C. Paul and now Westbrook).

The Knicks have a bit of flexibility in their cap. A lot of team options and partially guaranteed deals. I’m sure they can fit that contract under the cap or do trades with contracts. Not picking up team options and releasing Payton and Bullock puts them at about 56m. Cap was 109m last season.

Harden and Westbrook are both guys who are on the ball offensive players so that pairing is not a good one.

As long as he is not heading to Boston I could care less where he ends up.

I’m hearing the Lakers are looking to sign CP3. How could that be with 41mil being owed to him?

If any can pull it off it will be the Lakers. According to reports several guys would have to opt in and then be traded. Good Luck with that notion. I would be surprised if they can pull it off

I’m not a fan of a CP3 trade for the Lakers.
LA would have to trade so many players for him.
Having to pay almost $85m for two years of CP3 is crazy.
If he was 30 it would be a different story.  
There are and will be a lot of trade rumors out there.
They are made up just like we make up trade rumors.
Most trades that happen come out of the blue and the rumors usually never happen.

there is also a rumor that CP3 is going to the Knicks and they will resign Melo also.

Both players reportedly have always wanted to play together is the basis for this rumor, I suppose.

who knows but any of the guys making $40M or more is a hard trade to make for sure.
