Is Lebron out for 10-14 days?!!
ESPN is parsing words and I can't tell from the article if he is out for the first 10-14 days on health and safety protocols violation. Can someone please read and assist?!!
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31487427/los-angeles-lakers-lebron-james-violated-protocol-attending-event-nba-says
OMG!! This sets up potentially the greatest roadblock so ever! Does the league turn a blind eye to this since it's LeBron and let's him play anyway?!! Will LeBron go all legal on the hand that is feeding him?!! ESPN and the NBA HAVE TO HAVE LeBron and the Lakers in the playoffs! They've done EVERYTHING right so far to make sure LeBron is ready for the playoffs. It can be NO OTHER WAY!! I can't wait for this showdown!

There was no showdown. The league has rolled over and said no quarantine for LeBron.
The NBA is a joke. Look at all the games we had this year because COVID contact tracing required Celtics to sit out. Now, because it's the playoffs and he's LeBron, they suddenly come up with BS explanations why the rules don't apply here.

I find this disgusting. Here they were, the poster child for Covid 19 and they fold to the lakers and let him play? What a joke. We are supposed to take them seriously? There are many things this league needs to work on before next season. Hopefully they will address in inadequacies of their referee staff and look to train these guys better. Also, get rid of those guys who love the camera and profiles in front of the camera. The use of video needs to be addressed, when, where and why can they go to the video camera? They have many issues, the flagrant foul rule???? Last night, Durant hit Tatum in the head with his elbow right in front of a referee. No call, Tatum was so busy complaining that he did not get back on defense. Not five minutes later, Durant again hit Tatum in the head, this time the ref had no choice but to call a flagrant. Consistency is non existent with these ref's.
Lebron should have to pay the price for thumbing his fingers at the league and his fellow players.

The safety protocols need to be updated.
Having said that, James should have opted in to getting vaccinated.
Freedom of choice while a fundamental benefit to most Americans can and should be superseded because the world is still dealing with a global pandemic.
The NBA is a business.

Nice, Barkley. I didn't see that.
For some reason when i first read the article, I failed to see Wojo said in the second paragraph that LeBron would not be forced to sit out.
But even with that, there was a delayed reaction to the hypocrisy. Since "the nature of the event didn't rise to the thread level of virus spread." Now THAT sounds like some major BS and word parsing. WTH does that even mean and why didn't it apply to every other poor schmo that had to sit out on protocols all season?!!

Re: Is Lebron out for 10-14 days?!!
Well you see what is going on, right?! ESPN and the NBA are so far up in LeBron's grill that the League wants the first and only 7th seed to win the title and have it be LeBron. And when LeBron does this, he will at least finally equal Jordan or probably surpass him as the greatest player of all time. The Lakers would have been swept by PHX is LeBron sat out the first round.
Also what is happening is another generation will soon be forgotten...the Michael Jordan era. Just like the Bill Russell era. If LeBron pulls this off, Michael Jordan will begin to fade just like Russell has. Still, IMHBAO, there is no one even close to Russell. Russell was 11-1. Michael was barely half way over those numbers at 6-0. And if he didn't screw around for two years in minor league baseball, he'd be 8-0. But that was his choice.
And LeBron would be 5-6?!! And he would be the greatest of all time?!! I say come on, man. Sounding like everyone gets a trophy now even among the greatest of all time! Just keep watering it down.
Let's quit kidding ourselves, NBA. There is only one greatest of all time NBA player. No one else is even close.

Re: Is Lebron out for 10-14 days?!!
Ditto. No one will ever surpass Russell as the greatest and the greatest winner in Basketball. Jordan in my opinion is #2. Then and not necessarily in order comes Bird and Magic Kobe and Kareem, then maybe LeBron. If LeBron ends up with 7 rings (which he won’t) I still would never put him ahead of any of those 5. They all did it with one team and that means something to me.dbrown4 wrote:Well you see what is going on, right?! Lebron was too busy reinventing Hip Hop by moving from team to team, forming his own agency and conspiring with other players while giving the stank eye to coaches and players he didn’t care to be around and thus getting them fired or traded. As far as I’m concerned, he can go straight to the Hell of Fame or wait to be sent there.

NBA explains why LeBron James wasn't suspended for breaking league's COVID-19 protocol
Jason Owens

Amid blowback over perceived preferential treatment for LeBron James, the NBA explained on Monday why it declined to suspend him for breaking the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
James reportedly attended an event promoting a tequila brand alongside Drake and Michael B. Jordan prior to the Lakers' play-in game against the Golden State Warriors last week. The appearance reportedly violated the league's COVID-19 protocols, but the league declined to suspend or isolate James for the violation.
Since the appearance, James has played in the game against the Warriors and in Sunday's playoff Game 1 loss to the Phoenix Suns. His availability has prompted criticism of a double standard for the Lakers star during the playoffs where other players have been forced to sit for protocol violations.
For instance, Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. was fined $50,000 and forced to miss time in the league's health and safety protocols after a reported trip to a strip club in April.
NBA's explanation for lack of LeBron suspension
On Monday, NBA spokesman Mike Bass issued a statement explaining that James' appearance didn't create a health risk that required quarantine.
"To clarify any remaining misconception, LeBron James briefly attended an outdoor event last week where participants were required to be vaccinated or return a negative test result," the statement reads. "Under these circumstances and in consultation with medical experts, it was determined that his attendance did not create risks related to the spread of COVID-19 and therefore no quarantine was necessary."

NBA: Other players escaped ban for similar violations
The NBA also noted that other players have committed similar violations during the season and were not suspended or placed in quarantine. While Porter's suspension arrived after a reported trip to the unregulated environment of a strip club, James attended an event where attendees were required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.
“Over the course of this season, there have been numerous similar violations of the league’s Health and Safety Protocols, which were addressed with the players’ team in a similar fashion," the statement read.
The league didn't provide examples of the situations it cited.
Has James been vaccinated?
The NBA also noted in Monday's statement that players who have been vaccinated are permitted to participate in outdoor events to meet sponsorship commitments.
"Under current NBA rules, vaccinated players are permitted to engage in outside activities including their individual commercial arrangements such as sponsor appearances or ad shoots," the statement continues.
James has declined to publicly divulge whether or not he's been vaccinated.
Despite James' availability, the Lakers looked outmatched in their Game 1 loss to the Phoenix Suns as Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton outplayed James and Anthony Davis. Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, with the No. 7 seed Lakers listed as 1.5-point favorites over the second-seeded Suns.
Bob
MY NOTE: So, in summation: the league says that other players have likewise been cut slack, but doesn't name any; and the league also says that players are allowed to mingle if they've been vaccinated, but LeBron hasn't/won't say if he's been vaccinated. And this statement was intended to to clarify things?! If so then I call this an absolute epic fail because not one single point they made has been substantiated.

With all this, it just wouldn't make sense if LeBron was that careless especially at this stage of the season. I'm sure every one of his moves is checked and triple checked before he goes anywhere, if at all.
