D'Antoni was a lot of flash, perfect for the Knicks, at least until actual expectations arrived. He was more successful in Phoenix because he had Steve Nash. Without that exceptional ability and coach on the floor in New York, he's been exposed. He's probably a really good assistant coach. Unfortunately, you can probably say the same thing about Mike Woodson, who's taking over.

Fortunately in 2 of my brackets I had Syracuse exiting to Vanderbilt anyway. In the third I have 'em reaching the finals before losing to Kentucky; I've got to call and see if I can get that one changed before tomorrow's cutoff. Fab Melo will probably end up with at least a shot at an adequate NBA career. He'll never be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he'll never need to be.

There were rumors about Jerry Sloan being interested in coaching the Knicks. Dunno if they were real or if they just decided to go with Woodson either way.
