About Vitor Faverani----Can I say ...I told you?

I thinks is time to people realize that to be a frontcourt player in the Spanish league ,you have to be a solid player.The Spanish league is tough and to play 9 years there you need to
have some talent.Since day one I told you ..don't worry about the total minutes played or the rebounds average,because in that league every import player play few minutes.Faverani is showing that he is keeper and that he is going to help the Celtics a lot.

So far, so very good with Vitor.  

You called it.  Congratulations.  I couldn't be happier.  Ok, maybe a bit happier, but I'm satisfied with what I've seen this far. God knows he's filling a big hole in our roster. There isn't a bigger opportunity for an NBA rookie on any team this year than the one Vitor is looking at.

International, what I saw looked great. How are his rebounding and defense?

Sam he is not a great rebounder but is a very good defensive player.Like Vitor is a strong center with great hands and good moves with both hands and is a very good shooter from the 3 point line.

After 2 games played in the Spanish league with Real Madrid,his stats are 11 points and 5 rebounds in only 15 minutes.

International, do you see an international trend toward big, beefy centers with a lot of manual dexterity? Maybe overseas players could be the cornerstone of a rebirth of true centers in the NBA.

Gosh back in the 60's most every team had a pretty good starter and a darn good back up.

Found this piece... not saying I agree with the rankings in that order but look at the bottom where they mention the honorable mention players.......Wes Unseld is listed there just shows how deep the position was.

Sam ,the answer to your question is yes.Nikola Mirotic who is going to play with the Bulls next year is another player with good size and mobility.There is a kid from Danish Rasmus Larsen who I think is going to be a great center in the NBA,he is a 7 footer and is only 19 years old.Right now he is the leading rebounder in in the Spanish league with 11 rebounds per game.

International, the question I have about Larsen is whether he has any range away from the basket and how he does at protecting the basket. Of course, if he could average double figures in rebounds at the NBA level, I might not be so choosy.

He looks very smooth. Can put the ball on the floor, had a very quick release from the elbow. Didn't see much defense from him, but that's because the highlights were all about his offense. He looks like more of a finesse player, as opposed to Vitor who is more of a brute. The Greek center, Bourrassis (sic) had all kinds of trouble with him.

247#. Might be nice if he put on a few more, but not bad. He doesn't look strong, but who knows from just 1:55 worth of video?

He was a 2nd round pick by Utah in 2008, but chose to stay in Europe. If that's where he wants to play, there's not much hope for getting him. The good news is, if he does want to play here now, I'm pretty sure Utah's rights to him have expired by now.

This Rasmus Larsen kid IS a brute!

He's listed by draftexpress as 6'11 1/2" (in sneakers, of course), 210# but he looks MUCH bigger on that video. Then again, he's only 18 years old and maybe he was playing against high schoolers in this video. He's already ranked as a #27 pick in the 2015 draft by them. Being Danish, there won't be a language problem, English is taught in the schools in Scandinavia right from elementary school and many of them speak better English than some native-born Americans (sad to say).

Looks like another toothpick, and I'm left wondering about his rebounding and defense (which usually occurs with highlight films). But someone to keep an eye upon, particularly if he can eat a cow a day for the next couple of years.

Anthony Davis and Nerlen Noel are not like Wes Unseld or Bob Lanier and they are considered great prospects.
