In 15 seasons as a head coach, his teams never finished higher than third in their own division.
His teams won a grand total of 12 playoff games in his career.
You want your franchise to be led by this guy?

D'Antoni's system is not one that can do more than win a bunch of regular season games. And here I though the Lakers wanted championships....

Lakers probably would have played better under Bickerstaff. But I guess we'll never know at this point.

In the 2005-06 season, D'Antoni's Suns lost in 6 games in the Western Conference Finals.
Their 3rd and 4th leading scorers were Raja Bell and Boris Diaw...
D'Antoni has never coached a team with a championship roster.
I believe there are only 4 active coaches that have won a championship.
It's not too easy to hire "championship coaches".
