Eight Teams Discussed Sixers Trades In January, Source Tells Liberty Ballers

Teams are still interested in the Sixers Big 3, and Sam Hinkie's sights have now shifted towards the 2015 NBA Draft.
Although the trade rumor mill went quiet towards the end of last month, Sam Hinkie’s phone line was apparently still buzzing.

A source close to the Sixers has told Liberty Ballers that eight teams called the Philadelphia front office to discuss various trades involving Thaddeus Young, Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes during the month of January. Further, the source said that the Sixers have now firmly shifted their focus towards receiving one or multiple 2015 first round picks.
The source did not disclose the specific teams or packages that were discussed, but this information does point towards the likelihood that the Sixers will pull the trigger on a deal or two prior to the February 20 trade deadline.
Acquiring an extra 2015 first round pick or two is certainly of interest to the Sixers. While the number of 2014 first round picks that are available to be traded is low, Philadelphia also could be at risk of yielding its own 2015 first round pick to the Boston Celtics if the Sixers make the playoffs next season. That scenario seems realistic given the current weak state of the Eastern Conference and the Sixers’ potential to add two lottery picks to their roster this summer.

MY NOTE: Evan Turner? Yes. It'd be nice to have a 6'7" SG. Thaddeus Young? Yes. His /36mpg numbers are better than Jeff Green's except for free throw %. Spencer Hawes? He wants to be a stretch 4. We already have a couple of people playing center that play better defense than him that likes to take 3s. No thanks. If 6'9" Jared Sullinger can abuse him inside and outside, no thanks. We need someone who can replace Sully at center, not someone who will back him up at center.

Re: League Source: 8 Teams Have Contacted Sixers About Trades
This isn't the only source that has mentioned the Sixers trying to peddle Turner. I just wish they had done so before the Celtics' last game with the Sixers. And Hawes is DEFINITELY NOT the kind of "center" I'm lobbying for. Just what we need—another bombardier!
