NBA All-Rookie Second Team Rankings

Player----------------------Team---------First (2 pt)-----Second (1 Pt)-----Total
Kelly Olynyk ----------------Boston--------19-------------81----------------119
Giannis Antetokounmpo------Milwaukee-----15-------------86----------------116
Gorgui Dieng----------------Minnesota-----21-------------54-----------------96
Cody Zeller-----------------Charlotte-------3-------------61-----------------67
Steven Adams--------------OKC------------9-------------47-----------------65

Phil Pressey got 2 points.

All-Rookie 1st team

ROY Michael Carter-Williams, 125 first place votes, 250 points
Victor Oladipo (who started 44 games and averaged 31mpg), 124 first place votes, 0 2nd, 248 points
Trey Burke (who started 68 games and averaged 32mpg), 108 first place votes, 14 2nd place votes, 230 points
Mason Plumlee (who started 22 games in place of Lopez), 95 first place votes, 24 2nd place votes, 214 points
Tim Hardaway Jr. (averaged 23ppg), 87 first place votes, 30 2nd place votes, 204 points.

Considering Kelly averaged 20mpg and all the hype surrounding The Greek Freak, who averaged over 24mpg and started 23 of them, it's pretty impressive that Kelly out-pointed him.  He even got more first place points than the Greek. Kiwi Center Steven Adams, picked ahead of Kelly at #12 by OKC, played fewer mpg than Kelly and got fewer points.

I guess dishing out double-digit points multiple times wasn't enough for an undrafted rookie to get much respect.  That's ok, keep at it, Phil.

Good for Kelly. He was a model of improvement that would be the envy of a lot of rookies. And, in case it comes to this, it can't hurt his trade value either.

That second team would have a helluva time bringing the ball up the court or setting up the offense...

Good observation, Steve. I guess some people think "team" is just something to call five players.
