Ray Allen to Cleveland?
At least they'll be near the Cleveland Clinic for their son.

Ray Allen Considering a Move to Cleveland?
One of the biggest names left on the market is shooting guard Ray Allen. After coming up just short in the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat, the 39-year-old star is drawing interest from several teams.
There were reports that Allen was mulling retirement, but the Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly come calling.
According to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe, Cleveland could be looking to add Allen to the roster as a way of bolstering depth and familiarity for newly signed free agent LeBron James:
There are few who will question the fact that Allen has lost a step, but he is still one of the greatest three-point shooters in the history of the sport and a great presence off the bench and in the locker room.
Allen still managed to put up 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 26.5 minutes per game last season, and proved to be the outside shooter the team needed in key moments. Add in three-point specialist Mike Miller—he signed with Cleveland earlier this month—and the Cavaliers would have one less area of concern to address.
If Cleveland somehow pulls off the Kevin Love trade and moves 2014 No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins, via Marc Stein and BrianWindhorst of ESPN.com, the need for another shooting guard will be a glaring weakness. Bringing in Allen would be the ideal short-term solution.

Former Celtic and Heat standout Ray Allen is leaning towards returning for a 19th NBA season and joining former teammate LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to a league source.
Allen, who turned 39 Sunday, has been pondering retirement since the Heat lost in the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs last month. But James, along with ex-Heat swingman Mike Miller, who signed with the Cavaliers earlier this month, have been lobbying Allen to join them with the resurrected franchise.

Re: Ray Allen to Cleveland?
It seems like a reasonable destination for Ray.
Trying to stay with a competitive team and add another title for his eventual place in The Hall.

NYCelt,
It's a rather sad commentary that, including the upcoming season, Ray's three seasons after leaving Boston could elevate his HOF chances more than the entire remainder of his career (including his years with the Celtics).

Re: Ray Allen to Cleveland?
Eleven fantastic seasons with the Bucks and Sonics were more than enough to ensure a spot in the HOF for Ray Allen.

Agree. Ray Allen would be a HOF candidate even if he never played with Boston or Miami.

Ray has no choice but to go to Cleveland. The doctors told him they couldn't surgically remove his nose from LBJ's butt before the start of next season.

Re: Ray Allen to Cleveland?
Ray Allen and Mike Miller are interviewed. They are asked, "Why did you follow Lebron and sign with the Cavs?"
In unison, they reply, "yIDoghQo’, tlhIngan maH!"
Translated: Don’t be silly, we are Cling-ons!

I wonder how many Veterans, nearing the end of their careers, wouldn't opt to end their careers with a potential championship caliber team ?

Re: Ray Allen to Cleveland?
Ray Allen gave his absolute all when he played in Boston. I wish him the best in his effort to go out on top.
I would say except at the expense of the Celtics. But that's something we won't have to worry about for a while, if ever, since Ray will be comfortably retired by the time the C's contend again.

Re: Ray Allen to Cleveland?
Charles Barkley ought to come out of retirement to join the Cavs to have a chance at a ring (finally).

touche' Bob, my sentiments exactly. I am sorry, I just feel he is cheapening his reputation. Good luck....My thoughts about him will be left to myself.
