Re: 2015 Playoff Thread
So much fun watching Paul Pierce playing for Washington. He's 4 for 4 on 3's in the first half. Would be 5 for 5 but Beals stepped out before passing Paul the ball. Such an assassin's stroke.

Re: 2015 Playoff Thread
The last time a team got rid of a player in the midst of the playoffs?
The only other time that I can remember was the Lakers suspending Spencer Haywood before the 1980 finals. He had a real bad coke habit and nodded out during practice.
He was gone pronto.
How far gone was Haywood? He admitted in his autobiography that he was going to hire a mob hitman to kill coach Paul Westhead in retaliation but changed his mind. In the words of Bill Simmons this probably would have marred the finals.

Wiz win in a walk with Wall. Too bad he's out. I want to see Paul win another ring.
Milsap is pretty impressive too.

And Milsap was the 47th pick in the draft. Wish we could get that lucky.

I'm watching Jeff Green, boy is he awful, same exact scared non aggressive game he had with us, Vince Carter is grinding, hes at least hustling.... Green has been stealing money off his potential his whole career, hes way overpaid.

You're not upset Danny traded Green for Ray to join Paul, Rajon, KG and Perk. You're upset that he traded Perk to get Green back. Gotta get over it Cow. The past is gone. All we have is now. 2015 draft and FA period coming up. Put your mental mojo to work on getting us a decent center.

Cavs and Bulls game getting a bit testy in the 4th quarter. We may see the goon Perkins in the game soon.

LeBron simply won game 5 for the cavs.
he does remind me of seeing Jordan back in the 1990's.

38 pts on 14-24
12 rebounds
6 dimes
3 steals
3 blks
0 turnovers
Not too shabby at all.

He was in attack mode through the whole game, what a beast. Steph Curry won the MVP, but we know who the real best player in the league is. Blake Griffin is also really stepping up, doing everything for his team. I always thought Shaq should have won a few more MVP's, he only won it once.

Re: 2015 Playoff Thread
Shaq would go on vacation for stretches of the regular season out of boredom.
There's that saying that you can't turn it on and off. I think that's true for 99% of players. Shaq was so talented that he could at least in his prime.

Shaq just commenting on TNT how when Gasol gets double teamed how come Jeff Green can't step up and make a cut or make a simple play? that he needs to step up....Shaq with all due respect you haven't been following Jeff Green, this is what he does, ALWAYS comes up small.

The Truth with ANOTHER huge shot to take the lead with a few seconds left, but the Hawks get a hoop with one second left to win spoiling Paul's game winner. Regardless nice to see him playing well and coming up huge when games are on the line.

can't believe they took Gortat out on that last defensive stand, Nene was boxing out Milsap, they needed another BIG!!!

And Nene just fell down rather than going up for the board. Even a contested rebound would have run out the clock. Really bad.
In the 2nd game, the GSW just blowtorched the Griz after the 2nd half of the 1st quarter. Clooney's was rockin' last night!
I cannot think of another player in the history of the NBA with a quicker release than Curry. Ray Allen, MJ, Kobe, none of them. They had athleticism and great moves that bought them some distance but the ball didn't leave their hands faster. Curry is ridiculously quick. A hard dribble to bring the ball up and a flick of the wrist and it's gone. Athleticism fades with age and if that's what your game hinges on, you have a problem. All Curry needs is a sliver, the smallest tiniest sliver, of daylight.
Marc Gasol was defended by David Lee and Swiss Army Knife (and 2nd round pick) Draymond Green for much of the game, NOT 7' Andrew Bogut, and they did a pretty good job. Gasol hit a bunch of flat-footed mid-range shots (it wouldn't be accurate to call them "jump" shots) but he wasn't a monster inside. He's supposed to be one of the top free agents this summer but last night did not impress me.

It's always revealing to separate the men from the boys in terms of what they do when playing upper echelon teams over the course of multiple consecutive games.

bob agreed Nene was terrible as was Drew Godden, I don't know why the coach stopped playing Humphries, hes a better rebounder than Nene and has a mid range jumper.
