Sit Sheed, play Shelden
Sheed is killing this team. Shelden will do the dirty work, as in take charges and fight for rebounds. Sheed has shown that he will not do the fundamental things to help this team win. He'll just keep clanging those threes and committing reach in fouls.
Sheed is averaging 4.1 rebs per 23.2 min, while Shelden is at 3.1 per 11.6. I was actually surpised to see that Shelden averaged 11.6 minutes given all of his DNP's, but it demonstrates how much he was being used early on when the C's were winning consistently.
I do not believe that it is merely a coincidence that the C's became a .500 ball club as soon as Doc took away Shelden's minutes. Shelden will bang the way Powe used to for us. Leon, btw, was big today grabbing 4 rebs in 8:17 and going 6-6 from the line. That's the kind of effort this team needs, and the only one I see giving it every minute he's on the floor is Davis,

Re: Sit Sheed, play Shelden
Brandon,
You should not overlook the fact that Shelden's stats are based on his facing 6' 9" and 6' 10" power forwards, not bulkier and taller centers. Apples and oranges. Moreover, Shelden does not have good hands, and we already have one of those at center. Moreover, Sheldon is familiar with playing facing the basket, not with his back to it. Moreover, Sheed has forgotten more defense than Shelden will ever know, and Sheed's like a defensive signal-caller for the bench.
Sheed is less than ideal at this point in his career, but he's probably the best available option at the center basket.
