With the untimely passing of Pat Summitt and the down time between the draft and free agency that we are now in I thought I'd post this highly subjective thread for fun and knowledge. Great list NYCelt, how I managed to leave off Don Shula, John McGraw, and Bob Knight I'll never know, a complete brain fart. I did consider Joe McCarthy but didn't want to go Yankee crazy. Forgot about Chappie but I think that the Arcel/Brown duo, or even Arcel alone may be the best ever.

My son is a Jr at UGA, I've never been a fan of the Dawgs but have always respected Vince. As decent a man as there is and revered in the state.

Being a lifelong Orioles fan I didn't want to go too Yankees crazy either. I still included McCarthy despite his managing the Evil Empire.  It took everything I had in me not to just list Earl Weaver at #1 (Although McGraw did coach two earlier versions of The Orioles in the late 1800s and early 1900s before coaching the NY Giants)!

I think you could make a real good argument in favor of Arcel.
