Re: Joakim Noah is a stud
The NBA is about match ups. The fact that Dwight Howard has a tougher time against Perkins than he does against Horford - in no way means that Perk is a better player than Horford.
Paul Pierce kills Deng head to head - but struggled with Carlos Delfino covering him. Does that mean that Delfino is a better player than Deng?
Anyway, I am moving on from this thread. Bring on Saturday Night.

It doesn't matter who's a better player, which is for fantasy fans to debate but has very little to do with professional basketball. It's all about who's a better fit for his team.

So now your bringing in Paul Pierce into it?and when did I say Perk was the better player?all I said was I'd take Perk or Noah over Horford. They all have different strengths and attributes, you could say Horford is more fluid especially on offense, but I've also seen Perk post on Howard too in a way Horford could never do,its too bad Perks left leg is bothering him,he was making great progress before that and its affected his bone crunching D too.Well at least hes not a Bynum.

Not a problem, I thought I understood the "or-ness" in your sentence.
I like Noah's game, have for a while. A focused energy guy with a little length? Yeah, we could certainly use a guy like that on our current team.
I don't tend to watch other NBA games, just the Celtics. I have "noticed" many good things whenever I have seen Noah play against the Celtics. I can't say the same thing with Horford. Maybe that's too small a sample size to make a judgement on my part, as to who of the two is the better player. Perhaps it comes down to situation.
The addition of either of them might improve our rebounding issues, but as an addition to, rather than a replacement of, Perk. IMO.

I love the way Noah competes and goes after it with all that speed and quickness, hes never the strongest in the paint, but he just goes after it,using all his force to outposition and outhustle to board and defend, hes a great perimeter defender similar to a young KG and has alot of the Worm,Rodman in him.He will battle.....if we had taken him at 5 with Perk and a healthy Big Al and Rondo and TA and Delonte and whatever other pieces Danny could pry we'd have a very compelling up and coming young team.....just sayin

when you first said your pick in that draft at 5 would be Noah,I didn't see it,think I wanted Corey Brewer, but you saw something in him back then and this year Noah is one of my favorite players, earlier in year when he was leading league in rebounding had to check out some of his games when the C's were off, well that skinny rookie had really stepped it up and grown into some kind of dynamo,he just outworks the opposition and by end of game puts up very decent numbers, his rebounding and overall game can only get better.....good call

I am confused Cowens. When you say you would take Perkins or Noah over Horford, doesn't that IMPLY that you think they are both BETTER than Horford?
