Re: Latest Lavar Ball backlash
Maybe this leaves the door open for Philly to draft Ball at #3
Or maybe he slips down to 4 or 5. In a few weeks we will have an answer.

dboss,
Maybe even drop down further to Phoenix, although I do not know why they would want another point guard.

Jerry Colangelo: People Around Lonzo Ball Present 'Challenge'
JUN 3, 2017 12:05 PM
Jerry Colangelo said the people surrounding Lonzo Ball present a "challenge" for teams.
Colangelo, who remains an adviser with the Philadelphia 76ers, was referring to Ball's father LaVar Ball.
The 76ers own the third overall pick in the draft and have attempted to bring Ball in for a workout.
"I think Ball is a terrific prospect and could have an outstanding NBA future," Colangelo told the Carlin and Reese radio show on 94 WIP. "I think it's going to be challenging with the people around him, without being specific.
"And yet, I don't think teams should bypass the player because they have those concerns. At the end of the day, what wins in this league is talent, and this is a very talented young man."

Re: Latest Lavar Ball backlash
I'm warming to the idea of the Lakers drafting Jackson or Fox.
The Lakers guards are poor defenders.
If Jackson can guard the other teams best guard, that would help them immensely.
I'm not so sure he has the offensive capabilities to play a guard on offense.
Jackson seems to be a SF.
Ingram is mostly a SF.
The Lakers seem to be looking to next year with the hopes of signing Paul George.
He's mostly a SF.
I know the league is much more positionless now.
I'm not sure how LA would play them all together if they were fortunate enough to sign George.
I still like Lonzo Ball's game.
Maybe he won't be the guy for LA.
I will trust the Lakers to make the right pick.

Living out here, fairly close to Chino Hills, I can say this guy is a menace. He got the 30-3 coach at Chino Hills fired, he's on the radio more than some of the "experts", and he won't even work out for us. How insulting. Magic will take Jackson, I'm fairly certain of that, even though he plays the same position as Paul George. If PHI doesn't take Ball, I can see him dropping to SAC at 5.............and wouldn't that be Karmic??

Re: Latest Lavar Ball backlash
My guess is this is a message purposely set out there to issue a little cool down warning for LaVar. My strongest bet is that LA is going to take Lonzo, of course, as long as we don't.

We are assuming you are talking about Lavar, not Lonzo.
I feel a bit sorry for Lonzo.
His dad's mouth is getting people to not like his son.

If LA passes on Ball I think they Will draft Jackson or Tatum.
Fox is a hideous 3 point shooter and has a short wingspan.

Agreed their guards are already poor defenders, Lonzo adds his bad defense to that bad defense. I could see them going with Jackson if they keep Russell, as Jackson can lockdown on 3 positions and they need a stopper on their team to defend whichever matchup may be needed at point and both wing positions.

Yes, Lavar. Although GM's say he isn't hurting his son............he is!

Not surprised, if you keep Russell and start both, there's 2 non defenders that can't handle the fast twitch little points that are abundant today. Josh Jackson is so multi talented can defend 3 positions at elite level and a great passer and finisher at rim with a great motor. I easily take him over Ball any day.

That was very revealing. It was not even funny to me. It tells me that Lonzo does not reflect his dad.
I think he would be a perfect fit for Philly.
