Re: The Paul George Thread
"a league source told the Boston Herald’s Mark Murphy on Thursday."
It seems that the league has more "Leakers" than the federal government. The famous unidentified source just keeps the rumors coming.

Celts do not and should not part with the Golden Egg.
It is very unlikely they can deal for PG13 AND secure a commitment from him.

George is a very good player and could easily be responsible for helping the Lakers to win 5 to 7 games which could push them far enough off the bottom where the Cs could lose that pick.
The Nets pick next year is also likely to be a lottery pick, but probably not anywhere near close enough to the bottom of the standings which will prevent the Cs from getting anything in the top five.
Time to move some of these draft picks to better build the 2018 Cs!
BKN gave up Lopez they literally have nothing. That will be a very high pick. The player they can get in next year's draft with that pick is possibly better than George ever was.
I think the pick they got from Philly is going to be the 2019 Sacramento so-so pick. I might deal that one.

Ginoc,
What would you call "so-so"?

A ~10 pick. With Hield, Stein and Fox Sacramento has some nice, young assets.

Time is on our side. No deal whatsoever unless he agrees to re-sign, like KG did in 2007.
No 2018 Nets pick. Our 2018 pick and maybe the pick we got from Philly.
I guess we have to give them Crowder, but I'll miss him.

Gyso,
Crowder won't be enough salary. Might be Bradley too.

Indiana is going to lose him one way or the other. They are sellers in a hard market because few team have assets to trade.
PG is not anthony davis. No freakin way yo part with both Crowder and Bradley plus two 1st rounders.
The combination of Bradley and Crowder is + to PG13 without ANY picks included.
Danny should let Indy stew over this one and pursue a quality big.

Bob,
Like Dboss said, not Bradley too. Crowder plus a couple end of bench players and sign a couple guys on non-guaranteed contracts to match contracts. Similar to the CP3 trade.

Crowder and Zeller might work....just saying.
what if Danny offers Crowder, Zeller and Tatum and NO future picks for
George and TJ Leaf?

Source says the Cs and Pacers have continued to have Paul George talks this week, but Boston doesn't have a sense how close a deal might be.

Tatum is a stud. Why would you give up a polished #3 pick in favor of saving a pick that might be #5-#8?
Zeller, Crowder and the Lakers pick from next year. More than that is way too much IMO.

If the Celtics are indeed destined to trade for Paul George, they are probably just at the beginning of a long process in their dealings with Indiana general manager Kevin Pritchard.
A league source said today that the Celtics are waiting to hear back from Pritchard, who as of draft night was asking for next year’s Nets’ and Lakers’ first-round picks, which are both under Celtics control. Pritchard also wants starting-caliber players included in the deal.

ummmmm...Danny is best to move away form that table, if this is true

Celts should divest themselves and focus on adding a quality big..
If Boston still thinks that signing Hayward would be enough incentive for PG13 to accept an extension they are out of their rabbit ass mind.

Re: The Paul George Thread
Per Zach Lowe, of ESPN. He's not Woj, but he's pretty good.
Dismiss the possibility of Boston signing Hayward, acquiring George, and then somehow signing George to an extension -- regardless of how they order the moves. They just can't open the room to do both without trading Al Horford.
If Boston trades for George, they will do so knowing he could be a rental. That limits the price they are willing to pay. Despite reports to the contrary, Boston has not included any of the following in its offers to the Pacers, per league sources: Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, the 2018 Nets pick, and the Lakers-Kings pick Boston snared from Philly in the Markelle Fultz blockbuster.
bob
MY NOTE: From what I have heard the Pacers have NOT given permission to any team to speak to PG's agent. There has to be a reason for it and it isn't because speaking to him would alleviate any concerns about being able to re-sign PG.

If that is true, then I want no part of him at this time. I certainly do not want to give up anything good for a rental.

Re: The Paul George Thread
Agree!
Indy is in a pickle and they are stupid to think they can move George to the highest bidder especially when teams have not had a chance to speak with him. But since they are asking way too much they will end up with even less. Can you imagine what will happen if they are not able to trade him and are forced to suit him up next year. Can you imagine the fan reaction.
LAL can offer a peanut butter sandwich in the end as the Pacers reach the ultimate point of desperation.
Boston should offer them a rental fee of second rounders
