teams looking at Kelly O.
Sam Amick:
Lots of interest for Kelly Olynyk, I’m told, with Nets, Pacers, Kings, Jazz coming on strong. Pacers are trying to shed salary to land him 15 hours ago – via Twitter sam_amick
Free Agency, Kelly Olynyk, Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz

You knew he'd do well. Miami's consolation prize.

Boy, the money these kids are making is unreal. Tommy H will be shaking his head. He was a KO fan

I guess all the good talent isn't going out west.
He was thisclose to getting it. Good luck with the rest of your career, except against the Celtics.

It will be interesting to watch and see if he does "get it" finally. Maybe a change in the way he is played will help him. I will never forget that game against Washington, that was the best game I ever saw him play. And then he basically went back to the old KO

If he starts in Miami I think he might be much more assertive.

If by "get it" you mean get a real chance and a long leash, then I hope so too. Brad always held Olynyk to a much higher standard than anybody else on the roster. Never let him play through mistakes, never ran plays for him in the post to get his offense going, always yanked him out of the game after a missed rebound, even if the team was playing extremely well with Olynyk on the floor.
Olynyk's going to shine with a real opportunity.

Playing next to a brute with length like Whiteside will only help his game, unfortunately we never had a physical presence to make the game easier for him.

That's the truth. Not a single real legit center to play with in 4 years.

Just calling it the way I see it, you a need a Whiteside type that can do the dirty work so KO can do his space and finesse game, when KO has to play physical or dirty he looks like a frighten rag doll.

Cow,
Right, but you never looked at Kelly and said "this isn't Kelly's fault, we are short a dirty-work big alongside him", you just ran him down for not being that dirty-work big himself. He was drafted by Danny to be a 4, not a 5, Danny said so on draft night.

Re: teams looking at Kelly O.
Bob you always loved making excuses for KO, and on the game on whenever he made a routine play, you had to make a big deal about it, like a 7 footer shouldn't grab a rebound or not get scored on so easily. Blame Danny, we haven't that glass eating big since KG.

Cow,
Fine, blame Danny. That will be a change from you blaming Kelly when you are admitting now that Kelly didn't have the surrounding cast he needed. Make up your mind. Is it Danny's fault he didn't pair Kelly with a glass eating big or not? Danny said, when he drafted Kelly, that he saw him playing 4 in the NBA. Is it Kelly's fault he was then told to play 5? When he went up against 4s and 3s he was effective. When he played against 5s he wasn't. The moral of that is...?

KO should have played the 4. He will do much better in MIA with Whiteside. It was a good move for him

Re: teams looking at Kelly O.
bob I don't know where your going with this, KO was an equally inept girlie defender at the 4 or 5, true Danny could have helped him more, not every white boy can get Red to make a trade for a Parish and McHale.....so no matter how you want to word it or blame, KO plays too much rag doll defense and players can score over him very easily, all types, even wings and points. Having said that, Whiteside will help him, but Whiteside would have even helped KG if they were ever paired.
