A BIG man (there you go, Bob) from Villanova has just signed. Hopefully, he's not a stiff. Played with WAS last year. Bob should be mildly happy........

Oh sure, Daniel Ochefu!

Yeah, I remember him from...well I watch a lot of college ball and...Villanova? No. No I don't remember that. Thought maybe Tennessee. Washington? Huskies? Generals! Wizards? Really? huh! OK.

He was measured at 6'10 1/2" tall in bare feet, which is called 7'0-7'1" in today's NBA because they measure them in sneakers that have a 1 1/2" sole and then round up, with a 7'3" wingspan.  I can live with that.  If Danny signed another wing he could start his own freaking air force.

He's insurance, he's a "break glass in case of emergency" player just in case on of our bigs got hurt.  You know, like, if say Baynes hyperextends a knee?

Ochefu was waived by the Wiz because guard Sheldon McClellan was just injured a few days ago with an Achilles and is out 6-8 months.  They need to clear a roster spot for his replacement and Ochefu was the cheapest player to cut.

Ochefu, Ojelaye, Yabusele.  Not your typical Boston Celtic names.  It took Danny a while to embrace the international talent but, as usual, when he's in he's in with both feet.

At the minimum he'll be spending a ton of time in Maine because he missed virtually all of camp and wasn't even with our summer league team and learned the playbook then. There's a good chance he'll be waived and join the Red Claws for the rest of the year. Brad seems to be liking Jabari Bird, so if anybody is likely to be upgraded from a 2-way contract to a full NBA contract I think it would be him.

He will be waived, and sign with Maine. Still 14 spots. I read Richard Jefferson may be on the radar......stay tuned
